A Question of Faith

A Question of Faith

— Derek Hinchliffe

I live in the faith that there is a Presence and Power greater than I am that nurtures and supports me in ways I could not even imagine.

— Ernest Holmes

This Sunday’s message from Derek Hinchliffe centres around the idea that faith is not passive. Rather, it is a vibrant and active demonstration of the Divine showing up in, through, with, and as us!

Join us this Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 10:30am on Facebook Live for Derek's talk on this topic.

This week’s point of view from the Science of Mind

Faith moves mountains. Faith is not passive; it is a vibrant and active demonstration of the Divine showing up in, through, with, and as us!

To have faith, we must have a conviction that all is well. In order to keep faith, we must allow nothing to enter our thought which will weaken this conviction. Faith is built up from belief, acceptance and trust.

Faith does an interesting dance with knowing. When we see that our Faith is rewarded with Manifestation, it allows our Faith to become Knowing. Knowing is faith that has become super-charged!

Regardless of your belief system, faith in Divine Spirit can cause surprising positive effects on its bearers. Regardless of what religion people belong to, they experience the same benefits from having faith. Believers have longer lives, lower blood pressure, and lower rates of anxiety and depression.

International Day of Peace Meditation

The 2020 theme for the International Day of Peace is “Shaping Peace Together”.

The UN has invited the world to celebrate the day by spreading compassion, kindness and hope in the face of the pandemic. In these difficult times of physical distancing, this International Day of Peace will be dedicated to fostering dialogue and collecting ideas. We are invited to unite and share thoughts on how to heal our planet and change it for the better. Even though we may not be able to stand next to each other, we can still dream together.

As our contribution to the sharing of ideas on how to heal our planet, Centre for Spiritual Living Kelowna will hold a Collective Meditation for Peace on this day. We know that when a group of people come together with one accord and with one thought, a greater Power is generated. We know that the combined faith of a group reaches a higher level of consciousness. Our consciousness expands through meditation and contemplation, through conscious communion with the Invisible, and through our intuition which is the voice of Spirit in us. When we are waiting on the Divine Presence, we come into a consciousness of Peace and a realization that we all belong to the one human family. This Peace raises the consciousness of the planet to one of more peace. This is a great idea which the world is waiting to hear now.

While an RSVP is not required, if you RSVP for this event, you'll get a reminder email the day before.
