What’s New at CSL Kelowna 💗 May 6, 2022

Updated: May 10, 2022

We are still loving Studio 9 as our Sunday Celebration place together! It seems others do, too. A double booking of the auditorium means that starting this Sunday, May 8th, we will be in the portable classroom on the opposite side of the path (across from the entrance to the main building). Just look for our greeters and CSLK signs to guide you!

This Sunday’s talk:

Oh My Mama

— Rev. Melody Bailey, Rev. Barbara Samuel and Dr. Deborah Gordon

“Any mother could perform the jobs of several air traffic controllers with ease.

Lisa Alther

This Sunday is Mothers Day! Our ministers honour and recognize Moms in all their different expressions.

Join Rev. Melody, Rev. Barb, Dr. Deborah and our in-person congregation this Sunday, May 8th at 10:30am PT. Doors open at 10:15am. Please visit the event page for the address and parking details. Everyone is welcome!

If you are not feeling well, please stay at home and watch us on Facebook Live.

This Week’s Science of Mind Theme

The Fear Factor

Fear is one of the most common human emotions. Instead of allowing fear to stop us from accomplishing our intentions, we can move through our fears with faith.

Faith is the mental equivalent of fear at the opposite side of the spectrum. With the development of faith comes trust, knowing, focus, confidence and courage. Faith does not necessarily mean that there is an absence of fear; faith helps us to push through the fear. Faith empowers action that includes fear. Over time with spiritual maturity, fear diminishes and faith increases.

Jumping off of the cliff of faith requires courage and bringing any fear along for the ride; then the fear tends to eventually dissipate. This is the moment that we “feel the fear and do it anyway”. This is where our faith builds and strengthens, because faith is cumulative. Faith doesn’t go away when new challenges arise; we may just have to call on it and remind ourselves that we have it with each new adventure.

If we allow ourselves to openly and honestly explore our fears, we can get to the root cause and lay the groundwork for healing. If we are willing to stretch and grow, the universe will support our actions with increased capacity to reflect, accept and release our fears.

Volunteer at Studio 9!

We are seeking volunteers to help us out during our in-person services at Studio 9. Here are some of the opportunities and who to contact if you are interested.

Set up crew: contact Rev. Melody Bailey at revmel@shaw.ca or Rev. Barb Samuel at info@barbsamuel.com.

Offertory counters: contact Rev. Melody. Kitchen crew, take down crew and more: please contact Rev. Corinne Crockett at corinne_crockett@telus.net. Thank you!

CSL Summer Movie Series

Our greater organization, Centers for Spiritual Living, will be hosting a Summer Movie Series on Monday evenings from June 13th to August 29th.

The idea is to watch the movie on your own and then hear new thought leaders discuss the metaphysical messages of the movie.

Sign up for the series, or just select individual movies! Find out more.

Bring Receipts as a Donation

There is an easy way for you to help CSL Kelowna raise funds. Save your Nature’s Fare receipts, bring them to any Sunday service at Studio 9, and put them into the donations basket. Nature’s Fare will donate 3% of the total of your purchases to CSL Kelowna!

Practitioner Support

Our ministers and practitioners are in service to all of us. If you need help to see the Truth in a situation; if you are looking for clarity; if you are struggling in this challenging time; our ministers and practitioners are here to support you. You can contact them through the About page on our website, or you can submit a prayer request on the Contact page.

Our Global Vision: Spiritual Magnificence

SPIRITUAL MAGNIFICENCE is a global vision of the Science of Mind philosophy. Each week, a statement from our Global Vision will be presented in our blog and added to our Global Vision album on Facebook. (Also see 11 Shared Values.)
