Happy Monday, December 21, 2020

This week’s message from Dr. Deborah

Happy Holiday week! Does that make this Happy Christmas Monday? My message is a little different today.

First and foremost, I want to give a great big thank you to those of you who have supported our Centre this past year, in any and every way. All of your contributions, regardless of size or amount, carry your energy and your consciousness of support — and that matters a lot! You are all important and valued. You all matter and make a difference to our Centre.

I also want to give a HUGE shout out of gratitude to those of you who are on our Conscious Givers Committed Giving program, who have supported our Centre financially with such commitment and generosity. Knowing we can count on your support on a regular basis has meant everything to us! We’ve been able to keep our chins up, knowing we are enough and we have enough.

My heart is so, so connected to each of you. Thank you!

As my friend Dr. Temple Hayes says: “Our doors have been closed, yet our hearts have opened more than ever before.”

I loved our Holiday Service yesterday. If you missed The Presence in the Present is Present you’ll definitely want to check it out on YouTube. I have to say, it drummed up more than a little nostalgia in me and it was a tremendous reminder of the power of community.

Also, I was honoured to participate in a video produced by the Kelowna Interfaith Group (https://youtu.be/KsgbDjBbl0o). It gets especially interesting around the 13:35-minute mark!

May you have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Yule and a prosperous New Year!

Dr. Deborah

PS: I’d also like to share a message with you (below) from Derek Hinchliffe, RScP, the Treasurer of our Board of Trustees.

CSL Kelowna has experienced our most unusual year ever. I’m so happy we’ve found innovative new ways to connect and support each other.

Even though we are not currently gathering together in the same room, I can still feel your presence in my heart. Your energetic participation means so much! I am reminded every day how fortunate we are to have this community.

The Centre for Spiritual Living Kelowna is where we learn who and whose we truly are. It’s where we continue growing closer to becoming the person we are meant to be.

We haven’t been able to hold any special fundraisers or events over the past year, including the Celebration of Light, so, I ask that you prayerfully keep CSL Kelowna in mind as you are contemplating places or organizations to direct any year-end generosity this year.

This is an opportunity to ensure our Centre is here for your continuing growth, and for it to be here for the next person who is looking for a spiritual home. Although we fully expect to be meeting again in person before the next year is over, we will also continue sharing our message with a growing online audience.

We are so grateful for your support as we continue awakening humanity to its spiritual magnificence and create a world that works for all.

To those of you who are perhaps able to make a more substantial extra gift during this end-of-year season, we extend our deepest gratitude.

As most of you know, we are a Canadian registered charity and issue tax receipts for your annual giving of $50 or more.

Visit our Ways to Donate page (https://www.cslkelowna.org/donate) to discover how easy it is to make your contribution.

A special thank you from me to our conscious givers whose support provides such welcome stability to our Centre. If this is something you have been thinking about, there’s no better time than right now to deepen your commitment. To sign up for automatic giving, please contact me at hinched@me.com .

With immense gratitude,

Derek Hinchliffe

Treasurer

PS: If you missed yesterday’s Holiday Service with the Sunday Six titled The Presence in the Present is Present, you can watch it on our YouTube channel.

Practitioner of the Week is Rev. Jeanette Vinek. If you are looking for one-to-one prayer treatment support for ANYTHING, you can contact her directly via email at jeanettef@telus.net.

MIND-FULL MOMENT

“The spirit of Christmas is the spirit of love and of generosity and of goodness. It illuminates the picture window of the soul, and we look out upon the world’s busy life and become more interested in people than in things.”
