LAST SUNDAY’S SERVICE was incredible! Instead of our regular service, Rev. John hosted a special two-hour workshop on the first of The Four Agreements. We learned why it’s important to “Be Impeccable with your Word.” The workshop continues this Sunday, with another two-hour session that reminds us, “Don’t Take Anything Personally.”
Sunday, September 22
10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Don't Take Anything Personally
Rev. John DePalma
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.
Everything we do is based on agreements we have made, often unconsciously - agreements with ourselves, with other people, with God, and with life.
But the most important agreements are the ones we make with ourselves.
Making new agreements, practicing a new way of being, supports us in creating a life of happiness, peace and joy.
When your attention is in the present moment, you enjoy life more intensely because you are fully alive. Use your will and attention. You choose to believe what you want to believe, and that includes believing in yourself.
Use The Four Agreements to change your actions–reactions. Every choice you make has a consequence or result. When you change the action, you change the result, and you change the dream of your life.
Join us as we explore the 2nd agreement, “Don’t take anything personally”
Sunday Sept 22, 10:30-12:30
All you need to bring is an open mind and heart and a willingness to change your thinking!
You may also want something to write with and paper.

BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD
Workshop with Rev. John DePalma
IT WAS A FULL HOUSE for Rev. John’s first workshop on the Four Agreements: Be Impeccable with Your Word. Because the workshop was two-hours long, we divided the video into Parts One and Two. Click the links below to view.
SERVICE OPPORTUNITY
BC Thanksgiving Day Food Drive – The Fun Continues
YOU CAN HELP THIS SATURDAY
Hunger is a big problem in Kelowna and, together, we can make a difference.
It’s not too late to volunteer to join in the fun and service of supporting the BC Thanksgiving Day Food Drive!
We had wonderful volunteers collecting food donations at Save-On Foods this week, and delivering bags to doorsteps in our area.
You can join us in collecting the bounty on Saturday, September 21st. We’ll be meeting at Studio 9 at 11:30 to prepare for the day.
If you’re able to assist on Saturday with food pick-up, please contact Tracy Anderson at tbtaylor@shaw.ca
A big shout out to those who volunteered this week!
Monday Night Book Study Continues
With Rev. John DePalma
MONDAY, SEPETEMBER 23, is the third week of a 10-week exploration of the book, Creating the Beloved Community by Rev. Jim Lockard.
It doesn’t matter if you missed the first two weeks, you can just show up and dive right in!
Everyone is welcome to join what promises to be an interesting conversation!
When logging in make sure your name and video is on so we can get to know one another a little better. This can be especially helpful for me as the newbie in our community, to help me connect names with faces!
Also remember you can interact with chat and by using the “raise your hand” icon in the reaction drop down. I’m looking forward to seeing you all Monday, September 23, from 6:30 to 8:00!
Monday Nights with Rev. John is a 10-week exploration of the book, Creating the Beloved Community, by Rev. Dr. Jim Lockard, a well-known and respected leader within the New Thought movement.
If you don’t have the book, you can join anyway, but your experience of these sessions will be enhanced through reading the book.
This book is available in paper-back or kindle version at amazon.ca.

As we expect out of town guests, we may be looking for billets. Please let Rev. Corinne know if you’re willing and able to host a visitor for the weekend.
HOW TO ORDER GALA TICKETS ON YOUR PHONE
We’ve heard from some people that they are unable to purchase tickets to the Gala on their cell phones. When they click on the Events Link all they see is a blank page. This is a bug that we’re trying to sort out, but in the meantime, if you just scroll down that blank page – quite a ways – you will get to the Events.
Okanagan Multi-Faith Inaugural Assembly
“So powerful is the Light of Unity that it can illuminate the whole world.”
~ Bahá’u’llá
This quote used in creating our Sacred Covenant was made manifest in the life of our Centre last weekend.
In this sometimes-divisive world, standing together as Communities of Faith is powerful.
The Okanagan Multi-Faith Community had its first assembly on Saturday, September 14th at the Okanagan Jewish Community Centre.
The intention of the Okanagan Multi-Faith Committee is to promote understanding, brotherhood and support between faiths.
Rev. Corinne is on the steering committee of this group, along with Steven Finkleman from the Okanagan Jewish Centre, and Kay Ruthnum from the Baha’i community.
We’re delighted six members from our CSL Kelowna Community joined other faith-groups in learning about Jewish history, tradition, and practices to enhance our understanding of the Jewish faith and culture.
Following the formal presentation, we were served delicious treats in the social period following.
The next gathering will be hosted in October by the Baháʼí Community. If you’re interested in attending, speak with Rev. Corinne.
