Facing Fear: A Spiritual Invitation
With Rev. Barbara Samuel
“There is good for me, and I ought to have it.”
- Emma Curtis Hopkins
Ernest Holmes once wrote, “Fear is faith in the wrong direction.” So, what happens when we turn that fear around?
Join Rev. Barbara Samuel and Neal Klassen for a compelling, light-hearted, and deeply spiritual look at fear—how it creeps in, how it clouds our vision, and how we can use New Thought principles to meet it with clarity, compassion, and courage.
Featuring a childhood fear involving William Shatner, a gremlin at 20,000 feet, and the surprising power of spiritual perspective, this talk invites us to laugh, reflect, and remember who we really are.
Come rediscover your power to choose faith over fear—and freedom over fiction.
Join us at Studio 9 (1180 Houghton Rd, Kelowna, BC). Doors open at 10:15 am. Enter the property by the side entrance behind the staff parking lot. Look for our signs to guide you! Please use street parking or park at Ben Lee Park (1.5 blocks away).
Or you can always watch our live stream on Facebook Live via Centre for Spiritual Living Kelowna's Facebook page.
Last Sunday
Let’s Talk It Out:
Taking the Dreary Out of Drama and Turning Conflict into Harmony!
With Rev. John DePalma
Last Sunday, Rev. John explained the power of intention in the creative process and explored how to approach conflicts with purpose and clarity, shifting from frustration to understanding.
He demonstrated that there is no need to dread those awkward silences or uncomfortable conversations— and, if you’re willing to use them, we’ve got the tools to handle those moments with humour and grace.
We learned how to negotiate peace, communicate with ease, and build harmony in our relationships—because peace doesn’t have to be boring, and it starts with you!

Let’s show up with love. Let’s celebrate every person’s right to be who they are and love who they love. And let’s do it together—with open hearts, open minds, and maybe a few sparkles too.

Multi Faith Gathering:
The Islamic Community
Saturday, June 21
We are continually reminded that when we come together in shared purpose and mutual respect, we truly can contribute to a world that works for all.
Islam is a monotheistic Abrahamic religion founded in the 7th century CE by the Prophet Muhammad in Arabia. Muslims believe in one God (Allah) and follow the Quran, regarded as God's final revelation.
The core beliefs include the Five Pillars: faith, prayer, charity, fasting during Ramadan, and pilgrimage to Mecca.
Islam emphasizes justice, compassion, and submission to God's will. It shares roots with Judaism and Christianity.
Followers aim to live a righteous life guided by the Quran and Hadith (sayings of the Prophet). Islam has over a billion adherents worldwide and encompasses diverse cultures and traditions
You’ll be excited to know our next Multi-Faith opportunity is a visit to the Islamic Community on Saturday, June 21st. Contact Rev. Corinne for details if you’d like to join in this visit.

IN A QUIET TOWN, a curious girl named Maya loved two strange subjects: Quantum Physics and the Science of Mind. People told her they were very different, but Maya saw a secret link.
Quantum Physics says that tiny particles, like electrons, don’t act the same when no one is looking. They can be in many places at once. But when someone observes them, they "choose" a spot. Maya thought this was magical—like the universe cared about our attention.
The Science of Mind says our thoughts shape our reality. If you believe in good things, you invite good things. If you expect trouble, trouble often comes.
Maya sat under a tree and smiled. She saw how both ideas said the same thing: what we focus on changes what happens. In Quantum Physics, observation affects particles. In the Science of Mind, thought affects life.
She realized our mind is powerful, and the universe is full of surprises. Maybe science and spirit are collaborators — they are two ways of telling the same story.
From that day, Maya believed: if you think with love and look with wonder, the universe listens.
