With Rev. John DePalma
This Mother’s Day, join us for a powerful talk that honors more than tradition —it honors the timeless feminine wisdom that lives in every human being.
Whether you are a mother, miss a mother, never knew one, or are learning to mother yourself — this talk invites you into a deeper experience of your own sacred wholeness.
We’ll explore:
Our brain “wiring” as a symbol of the bridge between logic and intuition, doing and being
Why embracing your inner feminine isn’t a trend — it’s spiritual competency
How we can draw on feminine qualities like empathy, receptivity, and creativity to co-create the Beloved Community
And how to make Mother’s Day a return — not just to memory, but to embodiment
This talk is for anyone ready to live:
More connected to their inner wisdom
More balanced in how they lead and love
More whole — for themselves and the communities they care about
Come as you are. Leave with a deeper understanding of how the mothering presence — within you — is a sacred, world-healing force.
Because to create the Beloved Community… we must first embody what it means to be whole.
Join us at Studio 9 (1180 Houghton Rd, Kelowna, BC). Doors open at 10:15 am. Enter the property by the side entrance behind the staff parking lot. Look for our signs to guide you! Please use street parking or park at Ben Lee Park (1.5 blocks away).
Or you can always watch our live stream on Facebook Live via Centre for Spiritual Living Kelowna's Facebook page.
Last Sunday

Last Sunday Rev. Corinne took us on a joyful adventure across galaxies, both inner and outer, as we discovered what Star Wars, Science of Mind, and modern quantum science all have in common:
“Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter.” — Yoda
We'll discovered how your mind and feelings are your lightsabers, your beliefs the Force, and Divine Law the ever-faithful operating system responding to every input.

THIS SATURDAY:
Invitation: Okanagan Multi-Faith Assembly
Deepen Your Understanding. Expand Your Heart.
We are delighted to offer another beautiful opportunity to come together in the spirit of learning, connection, and mutual respect. In the truest spirit of Multi-Faith collaboration, Rev. Corinne has been invited to offer the opening prayer for our next Multi-Faith gathering at the Mormon Church on May 10th.
At a time when our world so deeply needs bridges of understanding, participating in Multi-Faith learning is an act of hope, compassion, and unity. Each tradition offers a glimpse into the universal truths that bind us all—and reminds us that while our languages of prayer may differ, the spirit behind them is one.
Next Gathering
Hosted by: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Community (Mormon)
Date: Saturday, May 10th
During this gathering, you’ll experience:
A heartfelt 30-minute presentation sharing insights into the Mormon faith tradition
An opportunity for meaningful questions and answers
A warm social period with beverages and desserts
These events are designed to be welcoming, enriching, and respectful—and typically conclude in under two hours.
When we listen deeply to one another, we weave the fabric of peace and understanding.
We invite you to be part of this sacred weaving.

Let’s show up with love. Let’s celebrate every person’s right to be who they are and love who they love. And let’s do it together—with open hearts, open minds, and maybe a few sparkles too.

THE ORIGINS OF MOTHER'S DAY
Mother’s Day originated in the United States in the early 20th century. It was established largely due to the efforts of Anna Jarvis, who wanted to honor her mother, Ann Reeves Jarvis, a peace activist who cared for wounded soldiers during the Civil War.
Anna organized the first official Mother’s Day celebration in 1908 in Grafton, West Virginia. Her campaign to make it a national holiday succeeded when President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed it in 1914, designating the second Sunday in May for the occasion.
Though now widely celebrated, Anna later criticized its commercialization, believing it strayed from her original intent.

THE DIVINE FEMININE
The Divine Feminine represents the nurturing, intuitive, and compassionate aspects of spiritual consciousness—a sacred force that brings balance and healing to both individuals and the collective.
Rooted in ancient traditions and gaining renewed attention in modern spirituality, the Divine Feminine is not exclusive to women but exists in all beings, complementing the assertive energies of the Divine Masculine.
Ernest Holmes, founder of the Science of Mind philosophy, recognized the Divine Feminine as the receptive aspect of creation. He wrote, “The Divine Feminine is that deep, intuitive knowing that transcends logic and becomes the birthplace of wisdom.”
For Holmes, the creative process is a union of masculine and feminine energies—thought and feeling, action and receptivity—both necessary for spiritual wholeness.
Marianne Williamson, a prominent spiritual teacher, emphasizes the Divine Feminine as a force of healing and transformation. She says, “The feminine way is not the absence of strength, it is the presence of love.”
This love manifests as compassion, empathy, and the power to transform pain into purpose. Through embracing the feminine within, we return to the heart-centred wisdom the world urgently needs.
Brené Brown, a researcher known for her work on vulnerability and courage, adds depth to this understanding. She writes, “Vulnerability is not weakness; it's our greatest measure of courage.”
The Divine Feminine honours vulnerability as a strength, encouraging authenticity and emotional truth.
Together, these voices remind us that honoring the Divine Feminine is not a return to the past, but a forward path to healing, connection, and spiritual integration.
