“A New Script for the Soul”
With Rev. Corinne Crockett
What if you could stop repeating the same old patterns and begin writing a new story—one authored by Love itself?
This Sunday, join us for an inspiring exploration of how we can release outdated beliefs, shift our vibrational frequency, and embrace the Divine Truth of who we really are.
Drawing on the wisdom of Dr. David R. Hawkins and The Science of Mind, we’ll, what keeps us stuck in ego’s loop, uncover why spiritual practice matters, and how to courageously awaken to the power that’s already within us.
It’s time to stop hitting “copy” on yesterday—and start letting Spirit write today’s script.
“Principle is not bound by precedent” - Thomas Troward
This Sunday, we’re blessed to have the lively and talented Tanya Lipscomb is our musical artist on July 6th!
Join us at Studio 9 (1180 Houghton Rd, Kelowna, BC). Doors open at 10:15 am. Enter the property by the side entrance behind the staff parking lot. Look for our signs to guide you! Please use street parking or park at Ben Lee Park (1.5 blocks away).
Or you can always watch our live stream on Facebook Live via Centre for Spiritual Living Kelowna's Facebook page.
Last Sunday’s Service
Resilience in Technicolour
Soul Food Sunday with Rev. Barbara Samuel
Last Sunday, we celebrated the art of being unapologetically you. Through humour, heart, and a splash of sass, we explored how to live out loud - with bold colour, soulful courage, and resilient joy.
Life isn’t asking you to be perfect. It’s asking you to show up, shine bright, and dance to your own theme song. Join us for Resilience in Technicolour. A vibrant reminder that your authenticity is your greatest gift.
You’ll want to listen to the end to catch Neal’s Science Corner and a new understanding of the power of Spiritual Mind Treatment.

This one-hour gathering offers a simple way to reconnect - with yourself, nature and each other.

CSL Kelowna’s Blue Abundance Program
Let Your Abundance Surprise You—Out of the Blue!
What if abundance could delight you with its spontaneity?
What happens when we acknowledge prosperity showing up like a dime on the sidewalk, a free coffee, or an unexpected windfall we so often over-look?
Welcome to CSL Kelowna’s Blue Abundance Program—a joyful experiment in prosperity consciousness where we train our eyes, hearts, and spirits to recognize and celebrate the surprising ways good flows into our lives.
How It Works:
When you say yes to this sacred adventure, you'll receive the Blue Abundance Journal—a beautiful, intention-infused tool designed to help you track every gift, blessing, rebate, discount, coffee bought, or extra payment that comes your way “out of the blue.”
You'll also receive three envelopes marked “Blue Abundance / Unexpected Income.” These allow you to consciously return 10% of your unexpected income to the Centre—creating further opening to the flow of giving and receiving in a beautiful, reciprocal loop. Additional envelopes supplied at your request.
If you give online, please be sure to make a note on the transaction so we can track and celebrate your unexpected income with you!
For those registered on the Blue Abundance Program, please know our Licensed Practitioners are lovingly holding you in prayer, affirming that Spirit’s infinite abundance flows to you and through you—effortlessly and abundantly.
Why Participate?
This is more than journaling—it’s a powerful spiritual practice, a shift in consciousness, and a joyful way to live in harmony with the Law of Circulation.
As you grow in awareness and gratitude, you’ll start to notice the small and large ways the Universe shows up for you—transforming not only your mindset, but your relationship with giving and receiving.
As Ernest Holmes wrote:
“We do not give because God needs the gift but because the giving increases, broadens and deepens the life of the giver.”
When you participate, you affirm:- That you are open to receive.- That you trust in the flow of Divine Good.- That what you give returns multiplied.
So… are you ready to say yes to unexpected income, unexpected joy, and unexpected grace?
Join us in this uplifting practice and see what happens when you let go of resistance and open to the Blue Flow of Divine Abundance.
Journals are available at the Centre or by request to Rev. Corinne.
Please email ministercslk@gmail.com to receive your Blue Abundance Journal.
Let the flow begin.

THE SCIENCE OF THE SOUL
From a scientific point of view, the concept of the “soul” remains elusive — more a philosophical or cultural idea than something measurable in laboratories.
Throughout history, many cultures have described the soul as an invisible, immortal essence giving life and consciousness to the body. However, science approaches this topic differently.
Modern neuroscience suggests that what we often call the “soul” — our sense of self, personality, thoughts, and emotions — emerges from the intricate activity of the brain. Billions of neurons firing in complex patterns give rise to consciousness and self-awareness.
Brain imaging shows that even profound experiences, like love, moral reflection, or mystical awe, correspond with measurable changes in neural activity.
Some scientists argue the soul is a metaphor for the human mind: our capacity to reason, feel, imagine, and create meaning. Rather than being an independent, invisible entity, it may simply be the sum of biological and psychological processes shaped by evolution.
Quantum scientists like Goswami and Penrose suggest consciousness is the ground of being, while neuroscientists Newberg and Waldman show that spiritual experience alters brain states and dissolves the sense of separation. Together, they hint that the soul may be a non-local field of awareness—ever-present, choosing, evolving.
“The soul is the quantum self—it is the part of you that chooses.” — Amit Goswami
Others explore deeper questions at the intersection of physics and philosophy, asking if consciousness could be fundamental to the universe.
In this light, science doesn’t dismiss the soul but reframes it: not as a ghostly force, but as the dynamic, ever-changing product of our living brain and body. While spiritual traditions speak of the soul’s eternal journey, science sees our identity rooted in natural processes — a reminder of both our complexity and our fragility.

DIFFERENT PERCEPTIONS OF THE SOUL
Christianity: The soul is the immortal essence of a person, created by God. It is seen as the true self that lives on after death, capable of salvation and eternal life. In some views, the soul is distinct from the body and the spirit.
Islam: The soul (nafs or ruh) is created by God and temporarily united with the body. After death, it awaits judgment and either reward or punishment. The soul’s journey continues beyond this life, emphasizing moral responsibility.
Judaism: Judaism views the soul (neshama) as divine breath given by God. There are often said to be multiple aspects of the soul (e.g., nefesh, ruach, neshama), representing different levels of spiritual awareness and vitality. The soul is inherently pure and seeks closeness to God.
Hinduism: The soul (Atman) is eternal and identical to Brahman, the universal spirit. Through cycles of rebirth (samsara), the soul evolves spiritually, aiming for moksha (liberation from the cycle).
Buddhism: Traditionally, Buddhism rejects the idea of a permanent, unchanging soul (anatman). Instead, what we call a “self” is a collection of changing physical and mental processes (skandhas). Enlightenment involves realizing this truth.
Taoism: Views the soul more fluidly, often speaking of hun (ethereal soul) and po (corporeal soul). Harmony between them sustains life; imbalance can cause illness or misfortune.
The Science of Mind: The soul is seen not as a separate entity but as an individualized expression of universal Spirit. It acts as a creative medium, receiving and manifesting thoughts and beliefs into form. The soul, in this philosophy, is eternal, infinite, and inseparably part of Divine Mind.
