Myth Busters

With Rev. Corinne Crockett

This Father’s Day, we’re breaking the mold—and breathing a big sigh of relief.

Let’s add another page to the instruction manual for life! For too long, the masculine has been boxed into a tight and often harmful identity: be tough, don’t cry, stay in control. But the time has come to release that old script—and step into something far more authentic, powerful, and deeply needed, not only by men, but by all genders.

This Sunday, we celebrate Father’s Day not only by honouring fathers and father figures, but by exploring the Sacred Masculine—a universal energy of presence, clarity, protection, and grounded love that lives within each one of us.

We’ll bust the myths of what the masculine isn’t and embrace the truth of what it can be. This isn’t about domination or detachment. It’s about awakening the strength that listens, the courage that includes, and the calm resolve that brings healing rather than harm.

  • In a world hungry for balance, the Sacred Masculine is a vital force for wholeness.

  • When freed from distortion, it becomes a steady, loving, and transformative presence.

  • Join us as we rediscover the masculine not as a role to perform, but as a sacred energy to embody.

Come for the myth-busting… stay for the healing.

You might even hear a bad Dad-joke or two!

“People may call what happens at midlife 'a crisis,' but it's not. It's an unraveling - a time when you feel a desperate pull to live the life you want to live, not the one you're 'supposed' to live. The unraveling is a time when you are challenged by the universe to let go of who you think you are supposed to be and to embrace who you are.” - Brené Brown

Join us at Studio 9 (1180 Houghton Rd, Kelowna, BC). Doors open at 10:15 am. Enter the property by the side entrance behind the staff parking lot. Look for our signs to guide you! Please use street parking or park at Ben Lee Park (1.5 blocks away).

Or you can always watch our live stream on Facebook Live via Centre for Spiritual Living Kelowna's Facebook page.

Out of the Blue… Abundance!

Introducing CSL Kelowna’s Blue Abundance Program

What if abundance could surprise you? What if prosperity could show up like a dime on the pavement, a free coffee, or an unexpected windfall?

Welcome to CSL Kelowna’s Blue Abundance Program—where we train our eyes, hearts, and spirits to notice and nurture the flow of unexpected good into our lives!

Here’s how it works:

When you say yes to this joyful experiment in prosperity consciousness, you’ll receive the Blue Abundance Journal—a beautiful, intention-infused tool designed to help you track every gift, blessing, rebate, discount, coffee bought, or extra payment that comes your way “out of the blue.”

Our Practitioners will hold you in prayer for increased good throughout the year, affirming that Spirit’s infinite abundance flows to you and through you with ease.

You commit to give 10% of your “blue abundance” to CSL Kelowna, a joyful gesture of circulation that keeps the energy of giving and receiving alive and flowing. What you give multiples in the most delightful ways!

You’ll cultivate awareness and gratitude as you watch and acknowledge the small and large ways the Universe shows up for you—transforming your mindset and opening your heart and wallet to even more.

As Ernest Holmes reminds us: “We do not give because God needs the gift but because the giving increases, broadens and deepens the life of the giver.”

This is more than a journal—it’s a spiritual practice. It’s a shift in consciousness. It’s an invitation to live in alignment with the Law of Circulation, in joyful trust that what you give returns multiplied.

Are you ready to say yes to unexpected income, unexpected joy, and unexpected grace?

Join us in this sacred experiment and discover what happens when you let go of resistance and open to the Divine flow.

Journals are available at the Centre or by request to Rev. Corinne at ministercslk@gmail.com.

Let the flow begin…

Let your abundance surprise you—Out of the Blue!

Multi Faith Gathering:

The Islamic Community

Saturday, June 21

Our next Multi-Faith opportunity is a visit to the Islamic Community on Saturday, June 21st.  Contact Rev. Corinne for details if you’d like to join in this visit (corinne_crockett@telus.net).

Islam is a monotheistic Abrahamic religion founded in the 7th century CE by the Prophet Muhammad in Arabia. Muslims believe in one God (Allah) and follow the Quran, regarded as God's final revelation.

The core beliefs include the Five Pillars: faith, prayer, charity, fasting during Ramadan, and pilgrimage to Mecca. Islam emphasizes justice, compassion, and submission to God's will. It shares roots with Judaism and Christianity.

Followers aim to live a righteous life guided by the Quran and Hadith (sayings of the Prophet). Islam has over a billion adherents worldwide and encompasses diverse cultures and traditions

Meditation and Connection in Nature

An Experiment – Saturday, July 5

Have you ever wanted to meditate in nature, surrounded by like-minded souls?  Whether this is your first time or you’re a seasoned meditator, we warmly invite you to join us for a peaceful and meaningful morning in community.

When: Saturday, July 5 at 9:00 AM

Where: Blair Pond Park - 333 Clifton Road

What to Expect: No prior meditation experience is needed.

At a recent workshop, “Is Church Still a Little Too… Churchy?”, Rev. John heard a common longing: to connect more deeply with Spirit through nature. He also encouraged us to experiment. This gathering is a response to that call.

We’ll meet in the serene surroundings of Blair Pond - listening to birdsong, watching ducks on the water, and breathing in the fresh morning air. We’ll begin with 30 minutes of gentle meditation, readings and quiet reflection, followed by 30 minutes of relaxed social time over coffee, muffins, and conversation.

This one-hour gathering offers a simple way to reconnect - with yourself, nature and each other.

Blair Pond has ample parking, and is accessible for those with mobility needs.

A few lawn chairs and yoga mats will be available, but please bring your own if you have one.

We look forward to sharing this time with you.

Personal Support is Available After Sunday Service

Have you seen this screen to the left of the stage? No, it’s not for changing from your church clothes to your sizzlin’ summer outfit. This is a private place where you can seek personal support.

Your will be received by one of our licensed Spiritual Practitioners, who are dedicated to holding you in affirmative prayer, love, and deep spiritual truth.

Know this: the moment you reach out, the healing has already begun. We love to pray!

God is not a person; God is a presence personified in us. Spirituality is not a thing; it is the atmosphere of God’s presence, goodness, truth, and beauty.

-          Ernest Holmes

Is Science of Mind a Religion, a Science, or a Philosophy?

The Science of Mind, founded by Ernest Holmes in 1927, is best described as a spiritual philosophy that blends elements of religion, science, and metaphysics. It is not a religion in the traditional sense, but it draws heavily from religious principles—particularly those of Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, and other mystical traditions. Its central tenet is that our thoughts shape our reality through a universal spiritual law, which echoes scientific concepts of cause and effect.

As a science, it does not conduct empirical experiments, but it borrows the scientific method’s core idea: that consistent thought patterns produce consistent outcomes. Holmes called it a "science" to emphasize its practical application—a repeatable process of using affirmations, visualization, and prayer (specifically, "Spiritual Mind Treatment") to manifest desired experiences.

At its heart, however, The Science of Mind is a philosophy—a way of understanding life and the universe. It teaches that there is one infinite intelligence, often referred to as God or Spirit, and that every individual is an expression of this divine source. Rather than focusing on dogma or worship, it encourages personal empowerment, mental discipline, and spiritual insight.

In essence, The Science of Mind is a philosophy with religious roots and scientific language, aimed at helping people live more consciously and creatively.
