As we step into a brand-new year, we invite you to imagine what’s possible—for your life, your relationships, and our wider community—when spiritual practice becomes lived experience.
What is Spiritual Living?
At the Centre for Spiritual Living Kelowna, we teach and practice a simple, powerful truth: there is a creative intelligence, an infinite wisdom, available to everyone—right here, right now. This wisdom can be consciously engaged to create a healthier, happier, more meaningful life, no matter the circumstances.
Ernest Holmes, founder of Religious Science, distilled the timeless wisdom of the ages into a practical framework called the Science of Mind. This is not abstract philosophy—it’s a living spiritual technology. When understood and practiced, it awakens the creative power within you and supports real, lasting transformation.
A Spiritual Home—not religious, deeply human
We are a spiritual-but-not-religious New Thought community and a safe place to explore life as it’s really happening. Here, your questions are welcome. Your doubts are honoured. Your lived experience matters.
Together, we explore how spiritual principles can be applied to the areas of life you are ready to change—relationships, health, prosperity, purpose, and inner peace—through conversation, practice, and connection.
January: Foundations that set you up for the year
We’ll begin 2026 by returning to the essentials. Each Sunday in January, we’ll revisit the foundational principles of the Science of Mind—grounding us in practices that actually work.
January 24 brings our Quick Start Workshop: a welcoming, accessible introduction to the background and core ideas of our philosophy. Perfect if you’re new—or ready for a fresh beginning.
February: From understanding to embodiment
In February, we deepen the journey.
The Journey of the Soul – a weekly accredited Science of Mind class guiding you through emotional healing, spiritual expansion, and the discovery of the YOU that’s been waiting to shine. This isn’t just learning—it’s transformation that lights you from the inside out.
Mindful Self-Compassion – a powerful, research-informed practice that teaches you how to meet life’s challenges with kindness, resilience, and emotional maturity. This practice beautifully complements the Science of Mind and makes it more impactful than ever.
Throughout the year: Growing wholeness
All year long, we’ll offer classes, workshops, and Sunday messages that develop your mental, emotional, and spiritual intelligence. Together we’ll explore:
Shadow work—bringing unconscious or hidden aspects of ourselves into ompassionate awareness, leading to deeper healing, authenticity, and healthier relationships.
Emerging spiritual and psychological practices that blend ancient wisdom with modern insight: mindfulness and breathwork, nervous-system regulation, journaling, compassion practices, gratitude, nature therapy, and even movement to integrate mind and body into more authentic self-expression.
More than inspiration—real belonging Today, people long for more than uplifting words. We long for authentic belonging, shared leadership, emotional safety, and communities that don’t just inspire—but transform.

We are becoming a community where:
leadership is shared,
responsibility is collective,
authority is functional rather than positional, and
our purpose becomes the centre of gravity.
We call this our Beloved Community—a kind of spiritual cooperative. What it becomes is still emerging. Perhaps a school for advanced spiritual living. Perhaps a trusted resource for richer, more conscious living throughout the Okanagan.
What it will become depends largely on you.
Your invitation
Each of us carries a share of the community’s consciousness. Getting involved here is like having an ownership stake in something meaningful—by committing to your own growth, showing up, participating, and contributing your presence and gifts.
Together, we are:
Transforming lives and inspiring people to make a positive difference in the world
by cultivating the values of extraordinary respect, compassion, safety,
and accountability.
If you’re ready for a year of depth, connection, and lived transformation—we’re saving a place for you.
With deep gratitude,
Rev John
