Okanagan Multi-Faith Assembly Update – June 23, 2026

Our final gathering of the 2025–2026 season of Okanagan Multi-Faith Assembly was held on Saturday, June 20, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We were warmly welcomed as we explored LDS beliefs surrounding life, death, and the sacred purpose of temples, gaining a deeper understanding of how these practices reflect an overarching vision of life's eternal journey. We learned about their belief in modern-day prophets, which generated discussion and learning.

As always, our conversations reminded us that while our traditions may express themselves differently, they are often rooted in shared values of love, compassion, service, and hope.

As we conclude another wonderful season of learning together, plans are already underway for 2026–2027. We are especially looking forward to partnering with Central Okanagan Hospice Association, KGH Foundation and many Faith Communities once again in the Walk of Memories on Sunday, September 13, at Kelowna Waterfront Park.

The Walk of Memories offers a compassionate space for our community to gather in support of those who have experienced the loss of a loved one or are carrying grief of any kind. As members of many faith traditions walk side by side, we offer something deeply needed: our presence, our listening hearts, and the reminder that no one needs to walk the path of grief alone.

We’ve been invited to participate in the Kelowna General Hospital Turban Project which you’ll be hearing more about in the near future.

Over the past year, the Okanagan Multi-Faith Assembly has grown into something even richer than an opportunity to learn about one another's traditions. Through friendship, trust, and shared experiences, we have become a community united by a common desire to serve our wider community together.

By attending, volunteering, welcoming, and walking alongside others, we offer a living example that our diversity is not something that divides us—it is a gift that strengthens our collective capacity to love and serve.

The World Religions Conference will take place on Sunday, September 27 at 6:30 pm. Rev. Corinne will be speaking on behalf of Religious Scientists at this event, which offers a free Indian dinner at the end. Stay tuned for more details, but mark your calendars and plan to attend this free Multi-Faith event.

For us at the Centre for Spiritual Living Kelowna, this is one more way we embody our purpose of Transforming Lives and Inspiring People to Make a Positive Difference in the World—not only through what we believe, but through how we show up for one another with open hearts and willing hands.

Together, we offer a living example that while our faith traditions may differ, our humanity is shared, and together we strengthen our collective capacity to love and serve.

We look forward to another year of friendship, learning, and service together.
