About the event

We spend so much of our lives offering kindness and understanding to others, yet many of us find it difficult to extend that same care to ourselves.

Join us on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for an introduction to Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), the program developed by Dr. Kristin Neff and Dr. Christopher Germer through the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion. Led by Maureen Detwiller, a trained MSC teacher, we’ll explore a research-supported approach that helps us meet life’s challenges, setbacks, and everyday stress with more kindness and less self-judgment.

Through a blend of guided meditations, reflective exercises, discussion, and everyday practices, you’ll discover what self-compassion really is—and what it isn’t. You’ll leave with practical tools you can weave into daily life, along with a clearer understanding of how mindfulness and self-compassion can help you build a kinder, more supportive relationship with yourself.
