Okanagan Multi-Faith Gathering – January 10, 2026

Members of CSL Kelowna and the Okanagan Multi-Faith Community gathered January 10th at the Central Okanagan United Church (COUC) for a deeply inspiring visit and exchange. We were warmly welcomed by Ally Phillips and Andrea Hess and introduced to the many ways this vibrant, open, and affirming congregation lives its commitment to service, compassion, and community care.

We learned about COUC’s extensive community outreach, including low-barrier food security supports, resource referrals and advocacy, pastoral care, and spiritual care. These services reflect a profound dedication to meeting people where they are, with dignity and respect.

In particular, we were moved by the breadth and heart of their food security programs. Every Tuesday, a food program is offered and the pantry is opened to individuals and families facing food insecurity—along with personal support and spiritual care. COUC also operates an on-site Thrift Shop that further supports their outreach.

As members of the Okanagan Multi-Faith Community shared about programs offered within their own traditions, a shared vision emerged: by sharing resources, knowledge, and relationships, we can extend the reach and impact of each other’s good work. Together, we increase what is possible.

As a member of the Okanagan Multi-Faith Leadership team, I’m also excited about presentations planned for the spring of 2026, with upcoming offerings by the Buddhist Community (February 7th) and the Pagan Community (March 14th), followed by presentations from the Baha’i community, UBCO Spiritual Care, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints later in the season.

At CSL Kelowna, our purpose is to transform lives and inspire people to make a positive difference in the world. Participating in the Okanagan Multi-Faith Community and supporting the compassionate outreach of our partner communities is one of the ways we live this purpose in real and practical ways—through cooperation, shared resources, and a collective commitment to care for our wider community.

If you would like to join us for upcoming offerings, contact Rev. Corinne at corinne_crockett@telus.net for details.

In gratitude,

Corinne
