What’s New at CSL Kelowna 💗 September 30, 2022

We acknowledge that today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, colloquially known as Orange Shirt Day, a Canadian statutory holiday to recognize the legacy of the Canadian Indian residential school system.

This Sunday’s talk:

Who Are You?

— Neal Klassen

“We are all in the process of spiritual evolution.”

— Ernest Holmes

Imagine that you are standing in a hall of mirrors surrounded by hundreds of images of yourself, except that each image reflects you at a different time in your life. Which of those images is “you?” All of them? None of them? This Sunday, Neal Klassen looks at the process of spiritual evolution as a means to discover who we really are.

Join Neal and our in-person congregation this Sunday, October 2nd at 10:30am PT at Studio 9, 1180 Houghton Road, Kelowna, BC. Doors open at 10:15am. Please visit the event page for more details and a map. Everyone is welcome!

If you are not feeling well, please stay at home and watch us on Facebook Live.

The SOM theme for September is Living Everyday Wonder Finances.

God is Infinite Source. Our nature interacts with the Infinite Abundance. This month, we will look at the nature of money, our individual and collective beliefs about it in order to dispel untruths and stand in clarity. We will then look at the threefold process of the flow of Good.

This Week’s Science of Mind Theme

Swimming in the Infinite Ocean

We create through contemplation. We can contemplate lack and limitation or abundance and flow. The Universe is extravagant in Its expression. It is pure, abundant energy, everywhere and always present.

The infinite supply of ideas is the true wealth and abundance of Spirit. These ideas – potential energies – are available to everyone, everywhere, always. Spirit has no limitation nor any concept of lack or restriction.

The Infinite is unlimited, expressing freely. As this must be true of Spirit, it must be universally true of all aspects of Spirit. Thomas Troward observes that the Universe creates by contemplating Itself. In Science of Mind, we say that we become what we think about. Contemplation itself is creative.

As we recognize the vastness of Spirit and Its extravagant expression of Life, and we recognize our oneness with Its nature, we stop seeing lack and limitation as the path of “good, spiritual people.” This week, contemplate the opulence, the extravagance of the Divine, and your oneness with that Presence.

“Abundance is not something we acquire; it’s something we tune into.”

— Wayne Dyer

KENYA: The Heartbeat of Africa!

If you didn’t see last week’s Soul Food Sunday talk titled KENYA: The Heartbeat of Africa!, you can watch it on YouTube!

Rev. Barbara Samuel and Rev. Gwen Smith are spiritual co-directors of CSL Kenya. Rev. Melody is on the CSL Kenya board of directors, and also teaches classes to Kenyan students over Zoom.

Before she transitioned, Rev. Connie Phelps, who originally set up CSL Kenya, said that whenever people see a frog, that is her. FROG is the acronym for Full Realization of God, hence the bi-weekly connection being called Froggy Friday.

If you are interested in supporting CSL Kenya, there are a variety of projects you can choose to contribute to. Visit the Change for Change page on their website.

Save the date and start thinking about attending the 2024 New Thought Conference in Nairobi, Kenya, February 2-4, 2024!

Water to Vapour: Our Immortal Nature…

We have an incredibly special Sunday Celebration planned for October 23!

Rev. Corinne Crockett will give a talk titled Water to Vapour: Our Immortal Nature. It will be a very special time to remember and celebrate those who have gone before us; to honour their lives and how much they meant to us; and to invite them in and around us in spirit.

Rev. Corinne will speak about the nature of our immortality and hold a special ceremony of remembrance. Bring a framed photo of your loved one and place it on the edge of the stage where they can be a part of our ceremony and celebration, too.

… Celebrate Life Dance Party!

Immediately following the service, we will shift things around to make space for the Celebrate Life Dance Party with Annie Zed and the rest of our congregation. Bring along a shareable appie-style finger food that reminds you of your special person.

We invite you to bring friends, family and play full out together by raising a high vibrational energy in our community! We’ll have a DJ to blast dance music with uplifting positive lyrics!

Annie Zed is creating a very intentional playlist, so if you have any positive dance songs you would like included, please email annie@cslkelowna.org.

Annie is also hoping to put together a slide show of photos to run on the overhead screen of the loved ones who have gone before us. If you'd like to have a photo of someone you know and love included, please email photos to Annie with the following specifications:

  • email photos as attachments;

  • high resolution; and

  • make the filename the first name of the person in the photo.

God is Spirit. Spirit is Substance and Substance is supply. This is the keynote to a realization of the more abundant life, to the demonstration of success in financial matters.
