This Sunday’s talk:
A Taizé Thanksgiving
— Contributions from a variety of our community members
“Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness. It’s the spark that lights a fire of joy in your soul.”
— Amy Collette
A Taizé service takes its name from “Taizé” – a monastic community located in Taizé, France, dedicated to simplicity, service and community. This form of meditative prayer involves sung and read prayers along with readings, music, meditation, and silence. It’s truly an experience rather than an objective time of teaching or preaching. Our hope in offering it is to give our community the opportunity to “feel into” a deep-felt sense of gratitude for all things, including our lives, our experiences, our relationships and our community, rather than just thinking about thanksgiving or having it be simply an intellectual understanding.
Gratitude is such a powerful causative force and sometimes we don’t realize how impactful it is for both creating and maybe even more importantly for consciously RECOGNIZING the good in our lives. We are immersed in goodness and wrapping that good with our mindful awareness of it, invites more and more good into our experiences.
Join our in-person congregation this Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 10:30am PT at Studio 9, 1180 Houghton Road, Kelowna, BC. Doors open at 10:15am. Please visit the event page for more details and a map. Everyone is welcome!
If you are not feeling well, please stay at home and watch us on Facebook Live.
This Week’s Science of Mind Theme
Let It Flow
We live in a Universe of infinite abundance of every form of wealth – love, health, financial freedom, creativity and more. And many are starving. The infinite flowing reservoir is always available, but our consciousness is filled with rules, beliefs of lack and limitation, self-loathing and devaluing. These rules and beliefs choke the flow of the Infinite Good down to a mere trickle. Our work is to get our foot off the hose and let the natural Abundance of the Universe flow in our lives.
As we recognize that our consciousness is the creative element in our lives, totally connected with an infinite Source of Good, we realize that our experience of prosperity comes from within us. Many people talk about the Law of Attraction. But “attraction” means we believe that our Good is “out there” and we need to attract it to “here.” But this is as commonly erroneous as thinking the sun goes around the earth. While it seems that way from an earth-centric perspective, it isn’t really true. The real Law is the Law of Radiation – what we radiate or express out then becomes our experience of Life. If I have dysfunctional beliefs about wealth, that is what radiates out and is reflected back to me.
True heart’s desires guide us to what wants to be expressed through us. Too often, however, we shut them down, turn them off and stop listening for two reasons. The Universe will not desire through us without also providing the means to accomplish that desire. We may not always see the how, but that is not our business. Our business is to be clear on the what and stand in that vision in faith and desire as the Universe provides the means.
The only “work” we need do is to clear our consciousness of the congestion and restriction of the flow of the Divine. The abundant brilliance of the Infinite One is always shining, always expressing, always “on.” We just need to get out of Its and our own way. Abundance is natural to God, therefore it is natural to us. Let it be!
“I wish I could show you when you are lonely or in darkness the astonishing light of your own being.”
— Hafiz

Water to Vapour: Our Immortal Nature…
We have an incredibly special Sunday Celebration planned for October 23!
Rev. Corinne Crockett will give a talk titled Water to Vapour: Our Immortal Nature. It will be a very special time to remember and celebrate those who have gone before us; to honour their lives and how much they meant to us; and to invite them in and around us in spirit.
Rev. Corinne will speak about the nature of our immortality and hold a special ceremony of remembrance. Bring a framed photo of your loved one and place it on the edge of the stage where they can be a part of our ceremony and celebration, too.
… Celebrate Life Dance Party!
Immediately following the service, we will shift things around to make space for the Celebrate Life Dance Party with Annie Zed and the rest of our congregation. Please bring along a shareable appie-style finger food that reminds you of your special person.
We invite you to bring friends, family and play full out together by raising a high vibrational energy in our community! We’ll have a DJ to blast dance music with uplifting positive lyrics!
Annie Zed is creating a very intentional playlist, so if you have any positive dance songs you would like included, please email annie@cslkelowna.org.
Annie is also putting together a slide show of photos to run on the overhead screen of the loved ones who have gone before us. If you’d like to have a photo of someone you know and love included, please email photos to Annie with the following specifications:
email photos as attachments;
highest resolution possible; and
include the person’s full name.
Please RSVP on the event pages: Water to Vapour: Our Immortal Nature and Celebrate Life Dance Party!
