What’s New at CSL Kelowna 💗 October 21, 2022

This is the big weekend! We are holding two very special events that must be experienced in person, if you can! It will be an extraordinary time to remember those who have transitioned. Let’s honour their lives and how much they meant to us. We’ll invite them in and around us in spirit. Come to Rev. Corinne’s talk on immortality, followed by a finger-food potluck, and a joyful dance party! See all the details below.

This Sunday’s talk:

Water to Vapour: Our Immortal Nature

— Rev. Corinne Crockett

“Death is but crossing the world, as friends do the seas;

they live in one another still.”

— William Penn

This Sunday will be a very special time to remember and celebrate those who have gone before us. We will honour the lives of our loved ones, how much they meant to us, and invite them in and around us in spirit.

Rev. Corinne Crockett will speak about the nature of our immortality and Dr. Kenn Gordon will lead us through a ceremony of honouring our loved ones in spirit. Stay and spend the afternoon with us at our Celebrate Life Dance Party with Annie Zed and the rest of our congregation. Everyone is welcome! Family, friends and neighbours!

Bring a framed photo of your loved one and place it on the edge of the stage where they can be a part of our ceremony and celebration, too. (Alternatively, you can email Annie digital photos by midnight Friday, October 21 to get them in the slide show.)

Guest musicians Kim and Jim Rhindress will be performing a very special song they wrote, Here's to You, Here's to Me. It’s guaranteed to give you goosebumps!

Let’s raise the vibration of our community by embracing the love we share for each other and for all those we have lost!

Bring along a shareable appie-style finger food that reminds you of your special person. (Read more about Sunday’s events below.)

Join Rev. Corinne and our beautiful community this Sunday, October 23 at 10:30am PT at Studio 9, 1180 Houghton Road, Kelowna, BC. Doors open at 10:15am. Please visit the event page for more details and a map. Everyone is welcome!

If you are not feeling well, please stay at home and watch us on Facebook Live.

This Week’s Science of Mind Theme

Money, So They Say…

Our beliefs create our experience of life in this world. If we are a clear conduit for the Divine Flow, it is easy and natural for that flow to show up as Good in all areas of our lives. If our conduit is clogged with beliefs that block the flow of Good to us, we experience poverty, lack, and limitation. Louise Hay said, “You can’t clean your house if you can’t see the dirt.” We don’t have to wallow around in the dirt – just see it and release it with statements of Truth. Let’s clean house!

Within an Infinite Oneness, there can be no debt or loss. Debt occurs when we either agree to pay for something over time – in a consciousness of trust of the flow of money – or in a consciousness of fear and belief that the Universe won’t supply our needs. Ultimately, God can’t owe Itself something, there is only Infinite Abundance. The kind of debt that creates problems comes from an overall consciousness of lack and distrust of ourselves and Universal flow.

Loss comes when we believe money is “ours” and there’s only a limited supply coming from certain channels. When we let go of possessiveness around money and realize that money is a form of Wealth which we use – it comes in, some stays, some goes out – we let go of our death grip on money. We may sustain what, in human terms, we call “loss.” But nothing is ever lost in the Universe. If we put a claim into the Universe to provide us with the amount lost – or more – and stay open to the Infinite Flow, we will experience the ever-presence of Opulence in the Universe.

Money is a form of Divine energy. We don’t need to feel ashamed about our interaction with it, nor do we have to “dumb-down” or fake that we’re rich to create a healthy relationship with money.

We must recognize that we live within a constant flow of the Divine quality of Wealth in all its many forms. It is not “my” wealth – we just get to play with it. As we bring the mindset of Everyday Wonder – “kind attention” and curiosity – to our relationship with money, it will, like any relationship, blossom.

“Anything that you pray for and ask, believe that you will receive it,

and it will be done for you. ”

— Mark 11:24

This Thing Called Life

Rev. Jeanette Vinek’s talk last Sunday was titled This Thing Called Life. She talks about the peaks and valleys of the human experience. What happens when we lose the sense of awe and wonder at the magnificence all around us? What are we taking for granted?

You can watch this service on YouTube.

Rev. Barb Samuel sang I Release and I Let Go.

Honouring Our Loved Ones…

On October 23, join us for a service unlike any other! We will remember and celebrate those who have transitioned; honour their lives and how much they meant to us; and invite them in and around us in spirit.

Rev. Corinne Crockett’s talk is titled Water to Vapour: Our Immortal Nature. Dr. Kenn Gordon will lead us through a ceremony of honouring our loved ones in spirit. There will be a ceremonial release of names written on dissolving paper, placed in a fountain, transforming into mist. Rev. Corinne will speak about the nature of our immortality. Bring framed photos of your loved ones and place it on the edge of the stage where they can be a part of our ceremony and celebration, too.

Here is what Rev. Corinne said about the event.

Guest musicians Kim and Jim Rhindress will be performing a very special song they wrote, Here's to You, Here's to Me. It’s guaranteed to give you goosebumps!

… Celebrate Life Dance Party!

Immediately following the service, we will shift things around to make space for the Celebrate Life Dance Party with Annie Zed and the rest of our congregation.

We invite you to bring friends, family and play full out together by raising a high vibrational energy in our community! We’ll have a DJ to blast dance music with uplifting positive lyrics!

Annie Zed is putting together a slide show with photos of all of our loved ones who have transitioned. (They don’t have to be CSL members. They can be any loved one who has passed away at any time: a family member, friend, colleague, pet.) If you have people in spirit you want to acknowledge and have as part of this event, please:

  • email photos to Annie at annie@cslkelowna.org by midnight Friday, October 21

  • include the person’s first name

  • send as many photos as you like! We will have plenty of space and time to show them all.

See more details about these events on the two event pages: Water to Vapour: Our Immortal Nature and Celebrate Life Dance Party!

If you would like to bring an appie-style finger food to share that reminds you of someone on the ‘other side’, please bring it to the kitchen area when you arrive.
