This Sunday’s talk:
This Thing Called Life
— Rev. Jeanette Vinek
“You are an eternal being now on the pathway of endless unfoldment, never less but always more yourself. Life is not static. It is forever dynamic, forever creating, not something done and finished, but something alive, awake and aware. There is something within you that sings the song of eternity. Listen to it.”
— Ernest Holmes
Rev. Jeanette Vinek shares her perspectives on This Thing Called Life, including the peaks and the valleys of this remarkable human experience. What happens when we lose the sense of awe and wonder at the magnificence all around us? What are we taking for granted? How do we shake the feeling of inertia and reconnect with the Power and Presence of Spirit within us? Rev. Jeanette proposes that maybe, just maybe, it's being involved with something greater than ourselves.
Join Rev. Jeanette and our in-person congregation this Sunday, October 16 at 10:30am PT at Studio 9, 1180 Houghton Road, Kelowna, BC. Doors open at 10:15am. Please visit the event page for more details and a map. Everyone is welcome!
If you are not feeling well, please stay at home and watch us on Facebook Live.
This Week’s Science of Mind Theme
Playing with Money
To allow God’s circulation to happen in our life in the form of money, we must love money. Not in a fear-based, hoarding, clinging way, but as we love all of God. We must release old beliefs and stories that have hampered this flow. Money is as spiritual as everything else.
When we recognize that we have the privilege of using this Divine Idea in the Mind of God – money – as a tool to express the nature of the Divine, we open to its sacredness, as well as our own and the world’s.
As we free ourselves from old beliefs and emotional conflicts that surround money in our culture and our families, we grow a healthy relationship with money. It flows in, we keep some and we release some, with ease, knowing that money is always in circulation.
Money is only a symbol, one which we energize with our beliefs and feelings. Money is neither good nor bad, but just a tool for self-expression.

“Money is only a tool. It will take you wherever you wish, but it will not replace you as the driver.”
— Ayn Rand
Reflecting on Last Sunday’s Taizé Thanksgiving

Honouring Our Loved Ones…
On October 23, join us for a service unlike any other! We will remember and celebrate those who have transitioned; honour their lives and how much they meant to us; and invite them in and around us in spirit.
Rev. Corinne Crockett’s talk is titled Water to Vapour: Our Immortal Nature. There will be a ceremonial release of names written on dissolving paper, placed in a fountain, transforming into mist. Rev. Corinne will also speak about the nature of our immortality. Bring framed photos of your loved ones and place it on the edge of the stage where they can be a part of our ceremony and celebration, too.
Guest musicians Kim and Jim Rhindress will be performing a very special song they wrote, Here's to You, Here's to Me. It’s guaranteed to give you goosebumps!
… Celebrate Life Dance Party!
Immediately following the service, we will shift things around to make space for the Celebrate Life Dance Party with Annie Zed and the rest of our congregation.
We invite you to bring friends, family and play full out together by raising a high vibrational energy in our community! We’ll have a DJ to blast dance music with uplifting positive lyrics!
Annie Zed is putting together a slide show with photos of all of our loved ones who have transitioned. (They don’t have to be CSL members. They can be any loved one who has passed away at any time: a family member, friend, colleague, pet.) If you have people in spirit you want to acknowledge and have as part of this event, please:
email photos to Annie at annie@cslkelowna.org
include the person’s first name
send as many photos as you like! We will have plenty of space and time to show them all.
See more details about these events on the two event pages: Water to Vapour: Our Immortal Nature and Celebrate Life Dance Party!
If you would like to bring an appie-style finger food to share that reminds you of someone on the ‘other side’, please bring it to the kitchen area when you arrive.
