We have a lot on the go here at CSLK! There have been some changes to our Board of Trustees. Annie (Zed) Zalezsak has stepped down, and Blair Wilson has joined. Read more about that in this week's Happy Monday post from Dr. Deborah Gordon. Rev. Corinne Crockett and Rev. Jeanette Vinek are hosting a retreat called Igniting the Spirit of the Heart starting July 8th. And we are planning an Installation Celebration for Rev. Corinne Crockett in her role as Assistant Minister on July 17th which will be followed by a community potluck. Read more about these events below. In the meantime, join us for our Sunday Celebration this week, either in person at Studio 9 or on Facebook Live!
This Sunday’s talk:
Keys to Freedom
— Rev. Corinne Crockett
“It is very important to understand that emotional intelligence is not the opposite of intelligence, it is not the triumph of the heart over head – it is the unique intersection of both.”
— David Caruso
We are thinking and feeling beings. We’ve all been taken out by our emotions from time to time. Gaining insight into our emotions and what they have to teach us is essential when we choose to live a conscious life. Understanding the science of emotions and how we can help ourselves when experiencing difficult or challenging emotions is empowerment.
Join Rev. Corinne Crockett and our in-person congregation this Sunday, June 5th at 10:30am PT. Doors open at 10:15am. Please visit the event page for the address and parking details. Everyone is welcome!
If you are not feeling well, please stay at home and watch us on Facebook Live.
The SOM theme for June is Living Everyday Wonder — Body.
The body is the one thing in this world which is completely and intimately ours. Rather than engaging in a spirituality that denies the body, we can move closer to an experience of God here and now by fully engaging with the body. Our bodies are magnificent and magical conduits between God and our individual consciousness. Our bodies allow us to experience the world in which we live. The body offers a direct and clear path to the Divine experience, if we will allow it. By loving the body, using it to connect to our minds and hearts, and listening to its wisdom, we celebrate its magnificence and awaken to this everyday wonder.
This Week’s Science of Mind Theme
Welcome to the Temple
Many of us grew up with social messaging that our bodies are not acceptable — too fat, too thin, too short, too tall, too black, too white, too one thing or another. We may have an ideal image of how our body could look or operate, and in feeding that image, we tell our body that what it is in this moment isn’t acceptable.
As we learn to love our bodies as they are, we open to the opportunity to heal these and other wounds or traumas that hide within our physical selves. By opening to feeling how the body feels without judging it, we open to the opportunity to receive insight and wisdom through this miraculous and wondrous thing.
While our bodies have a physical nature, this does not divorce them from the spiritual. They act as the intermediary with which we navigate the physical realm; but we must remember that all of it is spiritual. All bodies are inherently good and valuable, deserving of love and respect. Each of us is deserving of a harmonious relationship with our bodies.
Your body is perfect exactly how it is, and your body is a Divine tool that is absolutely vibrating with the flow of Source!

MIND-FULL MOMENT
“In terms of learning to accept our bodies, there is no such thing as healthy or unhealthy. There is certainly no magical line that constitutes value and worth. Our bodies are our vessels, and loving them and ourselves means treating those vessels with care.”
