What’s New at CSL Kelowna 💗 July 8, 2022

Writer: CSL KelownaCSL Kelowna

We are now permanently back in the auditorium of the main building at Studio 9 (1180 Houghton Road, Kelowna)! There is more room to spread out, and cushions for the benches in the front row! Plan to stay a while afterwards for our Circle Connection. It’s becoming a popular way for all of us in our spiritual community to get to know each other better, so please grab your coffee from the brew crew and hang out with us for some meaningful social time!

This Sunday’s talk:

Stubborn as a Mule – When I Know that I Know!

— Rev. Jeanette Vinek

“We believe in the control of conditions through the Power of this Mind.

Ernest Holmes (Declaration of Principles)

The Oxford Dictionary tells us that to be stubborn is having or showing dogged determination not to change one’s attitude or position on something, especially in spite of good arguments or reasons to do so.

Rev. Jeanette Vinek shares her insights from a lifetime of being labelled stubborn. She proposes that maybe, just maybe, this stubborn streak has evolved to a place that dwells in the possibilities of Spirit. To trust the intuitive sense of when she knows what she knows. She’ll share how we all can use the Power of Mind to create the life we imagine.

Join Rev. Jeanette and our in-person congregation this Sunday, July 10th at 10:30am PT at Studio 9, 1180 Houghton Road, Kelowna, BC. Doors open at 10:15am. Please visit the event page for more details and a map. Everyone is welcome!

If you are not feeling well, please stay at home and watch us on Facebook Live.

The SOM theme for July is Living Everyday Wonder Relationships.

There is only God. The way we relate to ourselves, one another, the world, and with The Universal Power, are all interconnected and inseparable. We cannot claim to love God while hating ourselves. We cannot declare that it is a just and equitable Universe while treating others (people, animals, the Earth) unjustly and inequitably. This month is the invitation to anchor in the spiritual practice of engaged relationships and actively revelling in the wonder of how each relationship is ultimately a relationship of Spirit with Itself.

This Week’s Science of Mind Theme

You and I are We

“I am never alone, never lonely, for I have as companions and friends those people who are drawn to me by the ever-active and immutable Law of Attraction. It is not enough that I profess to love people. I must really love people more dearly than I have ever loved before, because all people are my family.

“I do not outline who shall be my friends and companions, for there is no desire to coerce, compel, or suggest anyone. I trust implicitly the Law of Attraction to bring into my environment and atmosphere friends and loved ones and establish for me a community of interest and helpfulness. As I love and cooperate with my fellow humans, so do they love me and give me their cooperation. …the Law is motivated to work for me BY MY LOVE FOR PEOPLE.”

— Ernest Holmes

The moment we really understand that everyone is an individualized expression of God, it calls us into a deeper understanding and practice of how we relate to each expression of The One.

Back in the Auditorium

We are back in the large auditorium in the main building at Studio 9. We can spread out some more, and we now have cushions for the front row benches!

After our Sunday services, we’ve instituted a time for casual conversation. There’s time to grab a coffee and then come back together to talk about the talk, or whatever is on your mind. Our Circle Connection time lasts about half an hour to 45 minutes or so. We’ve had some great conversations so far. Everyone is welcome to join in.
