We > Me: Going Further Together

Derek Hinchliffe, RScP

“In the flow of love, you will tend to see and respond to the divinity in all persons.

Eric Butterworth

We all live in a community. Actually, we live in several. Communities are geographical, social and spiritual. This Sunday, Derek Hinchliffe, RScP, explores how our own personal spirituality affects our entire community. From jigsaw puzzles to space travel, together we will discover the reasons why “We” is so much greater than “Me”.

Join Derek Hinchliffe, RScP, and the rest of the Sunday Six on October 17 at 10:30am on Facebook Live.

Tune in early at 10:20am to hear the music of New Thought musician, Karen Drucker.

This Week’s Science of Mind Theme

We > Me: Going Further Together

Ubuntu is a part of Zulu life philosophy meaning “I am because we are”. A community is greater than the sum of its parts and each individual is uplifted by the support of the group.

Learning about and fully embracing people from many cultures and walks of life helps us to be a better spiritual and global community. Engaging our spiritual practices of listening, openness, forgiveness, surrender, faith, and trust all lend themselves to going further together in community.

As we go through life, we evolve and expand in consciousness. The individual is focused on their own personal development. When individuals come together in community, the engagement takes on a different focus of collaboration and shared goals. Openness and compromise ensures that everyone’s voice and interests are included. Working together in camaraderie brings love, shared accountability and participation.

The more we appreciate the uniqueness of everyone in our community, the more we all grow and expand in our unified richness. The stronger the ‘me’, the stronger the ‘we’.

Visioning Session #1

We are moving into a new time here at the Centre for Spiritual Living Kelowna. We’ve created the first of several opportunities to get together as a community to begin the process of co-creating our “NEXT”. This will start with a series of visioning sessions designed for everyone who’d like to be a part of this process to join together on Zoom.

Visioning is a process developed by Michael Beckwith to create a realization of our greater yet to be. It’s not visualization; it’s a process to assist us in getting in touch with what’s alive at the higher levels of our spiritual potential.

It’s a consciousness-stretching tool designed to take us beyond what we know and what we know we can do; it allows us to glimpse a greater potential than we might know from our human thinking level. Visioning is really spiritual brainstorming. It’s fun and easy. We’d love to have your participation.

Book Discussion

The Body is Not an Apology: The Power of Radical Self-Love

by Sonya Renee Taylor

Facilitator Amanda Pope looks forward to discussing this powerful book with others in a safe and accepting space.

“I’m excited to create that space where we can share and explore what it means to practice radical self-love. We all have bodies, and many of us have complicated relationships with them. Join me as we dive into exploring the ways in which society’s view of physical bodies has the power to impact our life experience, and how we can also free ourselves by practicing self-love.”

Starts October 20, 2021 at 6:30pm to 8pm, every Wednesday for 6 weeks. Please RSVP on the event page.

Suggested donation: $80

  • Donations can be made through our website or by e-transfer to donate@cslkelowna.org.
