Unmasking the Trick of Treatment!
— Dr. Deborah Gordon
“Let go of who you think you’re supposed to be and embrace who you are.”
— Brené Brown
Both COVID-19 and Halloween have given us the opportunity to become aware of the masks we wear. How do we take off our masks, be real and reveal that truest inner Divine Nature?
Going with the Halloween analogy – this is where the “trick of treatment” comes in. There’s a lot to discovering and expressing our authentic selves – and it’s just one tool out of a whole big tool box of things we can use to unveil and reveal our Truest self.
Brené Brown says that “Authenticity is all about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen.”

This Week’s Point of View from the Science of Mind
“We believe in the unity of all life, and that the highest God and the innermost God is one God. We believe that God is personal to all who feel this indwelling presence.” — Ernest Holmes, 1927, “Declaration of Principles”
Creating a world that works for everyone begins with creating a world that works for you. How can you improve upon what you see when you look within your own being?
The good that you are seeking is also seeking you. Being an active and participating member of our spiritual community is one way to start to lay the foundation for a world that works for everyone. Connecting with like-minded people who are also doing important inner healing work provides support along the way. The highest good – the innermost God – is shared by and expressed through each person that shares this awareness. Each of us is one with it. Each of us is a unique expression of it. Each of us reflects that good back to the other.
We seek to recognize the reflection of God in others. In this awareness there is no separation from God.
As we strive to understand and honour the unique characteristics of all with whom we come into contact, we realize that each encounter is indeed a Divine Appointment. We are here together in right and perfect timing. We recognize the unity that is expressed so beautifully by each unique and individual trait that makes up our wholeness. It is from this place of honouring one another and delighting in our variances that we can come together to create a world that supports the highest good of all beings.
