THE NEXT SERVICE IS A SOUL FOOD SUNDAY! And what does that mean? It’s Rev. Barbara Samuel’s take on a Sunday service. CSL Kelowna is a place where people from all walks of life can express and receive joy, love, and just be who they are. Soul Food Sunday is a service filled with music, a little humor, and "The Science Corner," which looks at the Science behind the Science of Mind.
Sunday, September 29
10:30 am - 11:30 pm
Putting the Peaces Together
Rev. Barbara Samuel
We are the Ones we have been waiting for! Not anyone else. When we consciously choose Peace, Peace will manifest in our personal lives and in the world.
I AM the Peace I see in the world!
When it feels like everything is falling into pieces, how can you find more Peace? When we are confused and asleep in the illusion of separation, there is no Peace in our world.
Spiritual wisdom and tools can help us awaken and rise to the Truth that, as Dr. Ernest Holmes said, “Peace is always at the center of our own soul.” Oneness, Peace and Harmony prevail.
Spiritual tools in our ‘Toolkit for Life’ help us have a Grand Rising in our personal and collective experience of Peace.
During this month’s Soul Food Sunday, we will explore: What is Peace? How to cultivate Inner Peace, Peace with others, Peace in community, and Peace on Earth--and truly put the “Peaces” together to Rise Up and BE the Peace we want to see in the world.
Join us for an inspirational message, music, and Neal’s Science Corner which, this week, requires you to do a little homework.
Prior to this Sunday’s service, research this question: What is a Semaphore?
Last Sunday’s Talk
DON'T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY
Workshop with Rev. John DePalma
IT WAS ANOTHER FULL HOUSE for the second of four workshops based on The Four Agreements. Last Sunday, Rev. John led us through a series of discussions to help us understand why it’s so important not to take anything personally. We will be exploring the Third Agreement on Sunday, October 6th, 10:30-12:30. Be sure to join us then.
If you missed the first Two Agreements, you can access the recordings here:
Monday Night Book Study Continues
With Rev. John DePalma
MONDAY, SEPETEMBER 30, is the fourth week of a 10-week exploration of the book, Creating the Beloved Community by Rev. Jim Lockard.
It doesn’t matter if you missed the first three weeks, you can just show up and dive right in!
Everyone is welcome to join what promises to be an interesting conversation!
When logging in please ensure to post your name and that your video is on so we can get to know one another a little better. This can be especially helpful for me as the newbie in our community, to help me connect names with faces!
Also remember you can interact with chat and by using the “raise your hand” icon in the reaction drop down. I’m looking forward to seeing you all Monday, September 30, from 6:30 to 8:00!
Here is the Zoom Link for the evening:
Monday Nights with Rev. John is a 10-week exploration of the book, Creating the Beloved Community, by Rev. Dr. Jim Lockard, a well-known and respected leader within the New Thought movement.
If you don’t have the book, you can join anyway, but your experience of these sessions will be enhanced through reading the book.
This book is available in paper-back or kindle version at amazon.ca.
NATIONAL DAY FOR TRUTH AND RECONCILLIATION
Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada.
The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.
This federal statutory holiday was created through legislative amendments made by Parliament.
WEAR ORANGE
Both the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day take place on September 30.
Orange Shirt Day is an Indigenous-led grassroots commemorative day intended to raise awareness of the individual, family and community inter-generational impacts of residential schools, and to promote the concept of “Every Child Matters”.
The orange shirt is a symbol of the stripping away of culture, freedom and self-esteem experienced by Indigenous children over generations.

As we expect out of town guests, we may be looking for billets. Please let Rev. Corinne know if you’re willing and able to host a visitor for the weekend.
HOW TO ORDER GALA TICKETS ON YOUR PHONE
We’ve heard from some people that they are unable to purchase tickets to the Gala on their cell phones. When they click on the Events Link all they see is a blank page. This is a bug that we’re trying to sort out, but in the meantime, if you just scroll down that blank page – quite a ways – you will get to the Events.
