Your Journey into Your Destiny
— Rev. Barbara Samuel
“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.”
— Carl Jung
You all heard Rev. Corinne Crockett say last week: “Be yourself because everyone else is already taken.” Well, it's true! It can feel scary and a risk to be authentic in a world that is trying to fit square pegs in round holes. It starts with, “Know Thyself.”
Join Rev. Barb this Sunday, March 5 at 10:30am PT at Studio 9, 1180 Houghton Road, Kelowna, BC. Doors open at 10:15am. Please visit the event page for more details and a map. Everyone is welcome!
If you are not feeling well, please take good care of yourself and watch us on Facebook Live.
The SOM theme for March is Cultivating Authenticity. This month, we explore the practice of cultivating authenticity which empowers us to step into all areas of our life in integrity. Cultivating authenticity involves us in releasing those patterns of thought, attitudes, and actions that act as barriers to us standing in our personal truth and power. By taking up this practice, we develop courage to be vulnerable to stand in our truth.
This Week’s Science of Mind Theme
Everyone Else is Already Taken
Each one of us is a unique expression of the Divine and what stands between our authentic expression of who we are truly and how we show up is a collection of thoughts, patterns of belief, and attitudes; those that we have come to through our own living of life and those handed to us by others – parents, teachers, religions, the media, the world.
Through exploring our own inner life with compassion and practicing gratitude and acceptance of who we are, we are poised to speak our truth and experience with courage. We will discover a freedom that comes from releasing the pressure to be who we are not.
In order to cultivate authenticity and no longer hide the parts of ourselves that we were afraid for others to see, vulnerability is required.
Being in a spiritual community and surrounding ourselves with people we trust also supports our journey of cultivating authenticity, giving us opportunities to be vulnerable and to be a witness to others.

Heal Your Body Book Study: POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
[updated 9:24pm March 2]
Heal Your Body is a 6-week book study of a Louise Hay classic (not to be confused with "You Can Heal Your Life"). The book study focuses on the work that Louise Hay did around body awareness, metaphysical equivalents, and using affirmations as part of physical healing.
As a Science of Mind minister, Louise Hay did groundbreaking work in the 1980s during the AIDS epidemic. She helped thousands of gay men (who were often stigmatized for their illness) come to see themselves as whole people once more. This developed into a movement of love and support.
Known for her many books containing positive and meaningful affirmations of upliftment and healing, this book study is bound to open you to raising your own level of wellbeing!
The class facilitator, Rev. Karin Wilson, has been teaching Science of Mind to students around the world since 2008. She is a keen scholar of Ernest Holmes, as well as Ralph Waldo Emerson, and approaches her work with a balance of both Eastern and Western spiritual knowledge.
