Talk for this Sunday, March 19, 2023

Coke versus Pepsi: the Truth about Truth

— Neal Klassen

“There is power in this word that I speak,

because it is of the Truth and it is the Truth.”

— Ernest Holmes

Science is not truth; science is the process of seeking the truth. Opinion is not truth; opinion is a perception of truth. There is only one truth, and that truth is God.

Tanya Lipscomb will be providing the music at our service this weekend!

Join Neal this Sunday, March 19 at 10:30am PT at Studio 9, 1180 Houghton Road, Kelowna, BC. Doors open at 10:15am. Please visit the event page for more details and a map. Everyone is welcome!

If you are not feeling well, please take good care of yourself and watch us on Facebook Live.

This Week’s Science of Mind Theme

Boundaries Build Bridges

Boundaries are where we end and the other begins. Boundaries are the container in which our authentic self resides.

Having clarity about our boundaries empowers us to know what is ours to be and do in the world. It is our responsibility to communicate our boundaries and hold others to honouring them. This prevents others from stepping on landmines they didn't even know were there, and creates bridges to others by giving them a path to connect with us.

When we live as if we lack boundaries, we unconsciously tell others that there is nothing of ours that we hold sacred. We can feel that we exist for their use and all is for the taking. While we may stop someone from trying to physically harm us or take our belongings, if we don't let them know our other limits, we set ourselves up for feeling resentment, betrayal and anger.

Others cannot read our minds. Communicating our boundaries may feel difficult and scary. Avoidance may feel easier, but knowing our values and limits empower us to live in alignment with them. We teach others how to treat us.

MIND-FULL MOMENT

Compassionate people ask for what they need. They say no when they need to, and when they say yes, they mean it. They're compassionate because their boundaries keep them out of resentment.
