This Week’s Science of Mind Theme

Got Me Hypnotized

It is the collective dream in which we are all so enmeshed that we don’t even know it’s a dream. All around us, we are being called to wake up. Let us say yes, even if we’d rather stay hypnotized in the dream.

Our foundational principle of Oneness, and the attendant practices to establish ourselves in greater knowing of this principle, support us in awakening from that dream. But boy is it challenging! The journey calls for great compassion for ourselves and others.

When we encounter people, circumstances and organizations who upset us, it’s important to step back and recognize that, below the surface appearances, we are one. We want the same thing – love. We may have very different ways of trying to “get it,” but it’s what we all want. At the core of most of us are two “spells” – the belief that I am separate from Life and that Life is not safe. Out of that we adopt two methods of operation – trying to control Life and trying to “do it right.” When, inevitably, Life can’t be controlled, we make several assumptions – I’m not doing it right enough, therefore I am wrong, unlovable, and all alone.

As we become willing to be aware that we are “hypnotized” by the collective consciousness, we begin to see that the most important task of our life is to wake up. When we stop relating to the world from an “us versus them” perspective, we can relate to each other more compassionately. We must first heal within.

Monsters, Inc.

Last weekend. Rev. Jeanette Vinek gave a talk titled Monsters, Inc.

Irene and Angela greeted community members as they arrived at Studio 9.

Rev. Melody Bailey led an affirmative prayer before the service.

Rev. Barbara Samuel and Neal Klassen provided the music.

The congregation waved hello to our livestream viewers.

You are blessed, you are blessed, every day of your life, you are blessed, blessed, blessed, blessed, blessed!”

Rev. Melody read a piece called “Prayer Poem to the Names of God” written by Richard M. Fewkes.

Irene shared an affirmative prayer before Rev. Jeanette's talk.

Watch the full service on YouTube.

Co-creating Community Sessions

August to October

As Rev. Jeanette Vinek said in Happy Monday on July 3, there are many opportunities to be involved in our community's co-creation process. Help identify who we are and what qualities we want to attract in our new Senior Minister, by participating in the following events.

Practitioner Support

Our ministers and practitioners are in service to all of us. If you need help to see the Truth in a situation; if you are looking for clarity; if you are struggling in this challenging time; our ministers and practitioners are here to support you. You can contact them through the About page on our website, or you can submit a prayer request on the Contact page.

Nature’s Fare Receipts Help CSLK!

Keep collecting your Nature’s Fare receipts; they are worth a pretty penny to us! Just put receipts from your shopping into the receipt box at the back of the Studio 9 auditorium on Sundays, and Nature’s Fare will donate 3% of the total of your purchases to CSL Kelowna! Every receipt helps! Thank you!

MIND-FULL MOMENT

It’s characteristic of the ego that it takes all that is unimportant as important and all that is important as unimportant.”
