The SOM theme for September is “Reaching Higher”. This month, we begin an ascent toward a greater understanding of ourselves and our place in the Universe. We push past our comfort zones using our understanding in innovative ways to advance us forward. We include (and benefit from) the wisdom and experiences we have gained along the way. We rise.
This Week’s Science of Mind Theme
Reaching Higher
What is our growing edge, personally and as a movement? How are we expanding our understanding and application of our principles to include the collective Good of the planet? How are we being called to reach higher and push past our comfort zones?
From the perspective of Science of Mind, we are ONE. When we embody unity, we live from love. When we get confused in the world of effects, we think and feel that we are separate, and from that place, our judgments begin.
When we are bouncing off duality, between past and future, we are creating karma (cause and effect). Karma can only exist outside of the present moment. Yet it is always the present moment. Staying in the present moment is a constant practice, a way of living.
There is no separation between me and my life. We are integrated as One.
Community Survey
Amanda Pope sent out an email this week inviting our CSL Kelowna community to complete a short survey in which you can share your thoughts about what you would like from your spiritual community in this upcoming year. The inclusion of your voice is so important and valuable to our community as we move forward, and completing the survey will only take a few moments. Thank you so much for participating!
Call for Volunteers
As the summer is coming to an end and we move into the fall, we are looking to start getting the Pandosy Peace Centre ready for use. Amanda Pope would like to arrange a few work parties in the month of September to do some much needed deep cleaning and gardening. If you have a couple of hours you can contribute to either cleaning or gardening, please contact Amanda. It will be fun to get together in some small groups to refresh our Peace Centre.
Also, as we plan for our next iteration of our Sunday Celebrations, Amanda would like to gather a team of people who can assist with the livestream service on Sunday mornings. If you are comfortable using a computer and are interested in being a part of this team, please contact Amanda at amanda@cslkelowna.org.
Zoom Meetings
Stay tuned for the return of our Coffee and Connection time.
After-service Fellowship with Joanne, Laura and other members of our CSLK community returns on September 12. Everyone is welcome!
Free SOM Magazine
If you’re in the Kelowna area, drop by the Pandosy Peace Centre to pick up a free issue of the September SOM magazine. The magazines are in a plastic bag outside, on the table that faces Pandosy Street.
