This week’s message from Dr. Deborah

Happy Monday, Dear Hearts!

I just want you to know I hear you and I miss you, too! I miss being together and our lively Sunday mornings filled with songs, time together and hugs!

I know we all feel inconvenienced by what’s happening. As long as there’s an ‘us’, of course there’s an ‘us’ we miss when we’re not together. However, I’m living in a place of acceptance rather than wishing and hoping for the past that was. I am open and willing to move forward, even though right here and now we don’t really know what that looks like. One thing is for sure: your safety is first and foremost for me and for your Centre leadership. I trust that you hold that near and dear in your heart.

We’re here to love you, no matter how that love reaches you. For now, it’s via this written message, our blog posts and in our virtual services. Also, I am available to you in any way. My home phone is (250) 717-8414 and my email address is revgord@shaw.ca.

We’ve not skipped a beat nor a single service since our new way of being has been upon us. I am so grateful to everyone, especially the Sunday Six for making that so! This is the time to lean into our powers of acceptance and resilience. I’m keeping curious about “what’s next”; I hope you are, too.

This Monday morning, I’m attending the first virtual Centers for Spiritual Living Minister’s Gathering via Zoom. Last year, this event (which is open to all licensed ministers) was held right here in Kelowna. I have such fond memories of it! I also look forward to connecting in this new online way with my colleagues. I’m always interested to see how effectively community and love can be transmitted over the internet. It’s a beautiful thing, as are each of you!

I want to remind you about our International Day of Peace Meditation which will take place on Monday, September 21st at 7pm on Zoom. This is a great opportunity to unite together to “know” compassion, kindness and hope for all. Rev. Melody Bailey and Pauline Weninger RScP will be facilitating.

The zoom link is:

Meeting ID: 833 9611 9162

Passcode: 281100

Read more details on the event page. An RSVP is not required, but if you do RSVP, you'll receive a confirmation email with the Zoom details, and a reminder on the day before. (If the email is not in your inbox, please check your junk folder.)

Peace and bountiful blessings,

Dr. Deborah

MIND-FULL MOMENT

“The world is so empty if one thinks only of mountains, rivers and cities; but to know someone here and there who thinks and feels with us, and though distant, is close to us in spirit – this makes the earth for us an inhabited garden.”

— Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
