I am grateful for this opportunity to tell you about a significant celebration coming up this Sunday, October 23.
Ten years ago, I faced my own mortality. The experience made me feel very close to my loved ones in spirit, and the presence of love I felt was incredible! I was reassured that no one ever dies alone; our loved ones await us. We are indeed immortal.
Here, on earth, we long for our loved ones who have transitioned! Sometimes, we sense their energy; we feel like they are around us. The idea to have this talk about immortality, titled Water to Vapour: Our Immortal Nature, along with the Celebrate Life Dance Party, came from a deep desire to recognize that our lives and relationships continue, despite passing on from this physical plane. This coming weekend, together in community, we will acknowledge and honour our loved ones ‘on the other side’ and celebrate life by joyfully playing full out, being our expansive selves, and having the utmost fun!
I believe we can connect with our loved ones anytime we want to. Our fond memories of times shared with our loved ones often include a favourite food or song, and that’s why our Celebrate Life Dance Party is such a significant event. It’s an opportunity for us all to enjoy remembering the good times, uplifting our community to a higher vibration, sharing and sending out our messages of love to those who have gone before us.
This is a free event. Bring your family, friends and neighbours! This is a time for connection and socializing in an uplifting, high vibration atmosphere.
During the dance party, we will run a slide show with photos of people you have known and loved, so we can all feel their presence. Send photos (with the first name of your loved one in spirit) to annie@cslkelowna.org by midnight on Friday, October 21, 2022. (Photos of pets who have passed are also welcome. You can send as many photos as you like!)
Here is what Rev. Corinne Crockett said about the event.
Guest musicians Kim and Jim Rhindress will be performing a very special song they wrote, Here's to You, Here's to Me. It’s guaranteed to give you goosebumps!
To recap: This coming Sunday, Rev. Corinne Crockett will talk about Water to Vapour: Our Immortal Nature. Dr. Kenn Gordon will lead us through a ceremony of honouring our loved ones in spirit.
After the service, we’ll quickly transform the room into the Celebrate Life Dance Party! If you bring along some shareable finger foods, we’ll get it all set up to nibble on as you chat with friends while the DJ sets up. And then we’ll sing and dance our hearts out!
EVERYONE is welcome!
With heartfelt love,
Annie

Did you hear the loud tapping during service yesterday? It sounded like someone was hammering on the outside of the building.
Neal Klassen went outside to investigate, and he spotted the culprit: a woodpecker! Once the bird realized he had been caught in the act, he promptly flew away.
If you missed yesterday’s talk by Rev. Jeanette Vinek, titled This Thing Called Life, you can watch it (and other past services) on the CSLK YouTube channel.
Immortality
by Clare Harner
Do not stand
By my grave, and weep.
I am not there,
I do not sleep —
I am the thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints in snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle, autumn rain.
As you awake with morning’s hush,
I am the swift, up-flinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight,
I am the day transcending night.
Do not stand
By my grave, and cry —
I am not there,
I did not die.
