As many of you know, Kenn and I leave for a trip to Egypt on Friday. We’re very excited! This is the top of my bucket list, and as I have no idea why that’s the case, I’m super intrigued as to what my experiences will be. There’s much paperwork and pre-planning to be done prior to travelling during these times when things are just starting to open up. There are tests and travel applications to each of the countries we’ll be going through (even though it’s all just in transit through the USA, the UK and finally our destination in Egypt.) It all feels quite different than how things used to be! I have a hunch that’s something all of us are going to have to get used to in one area or another; but it’s all good. I’m happy there is a level of rigour in wanting to keep our planet as safe as possible.
I’d like to give a shout out to Rev. Barb Samuel this week and to those who were physically in the room with us at the Innovation Centre yesterday for our third in-person Sunday service. Rev. Barb was in fine form with her voice, and with her ability to create an atmosphere of love and connection! This, along with Neal’s always wonderful accompaniment really got us all going: singing, standing and clapping to the beat! I have to say it was a beautiful heart-reminder of the power of being together. It harkened me back to the powerful energy that can happen when a group of people get together with a common purpose. (I have no doubt those of you who watched us virtually were also on your feet, singing along!) That girl knows how to move energy — I’m still feeling uplifted!
Of course, Dr. Kenn’s talk with his reminder to come back to the basics of our teaching and to Spiritual Mind Treatment, was also very inspiring.
Just a little heads up about a small change in our schedule. Typically, Rev. Barb’s Soul Food Sunday is the 4th Sunday of the month; but this month, it’ll be on the 3rd Sunday, November 21st.
I also want to share a little disappointment about our Special Membership Meeting being postponed. I was really looking forward to a gathering of our members on Zoom. This meeting was to have our membership approve and vote on a new and improved set of bylaws. I was so looking forward to being together and “putting a bow” on what has been a deep, detailed, time-consuming but fun and enlightening process. I was looking forward to completing this project, but it turns out there was a small procedural step we missed. I must say, I am powerfully grateful to those who noticed this, brought it to our attention, and steered us back on course to reschedule our Special Meeting for December 5th. I am so thankful for the angels who were willing to support our community by bringing to our attention what we’d missed. You know who you are. Thank you!
Blessings to all of you. I can’t wait to share our experiences when we return November 30th!
