Happy Monday, November 30, 2020

This week’s message from Dr. Deborah

Good day! Typically, I’m pretty good at resisting checking my phone and social media until at least the late afternoon. However, something moved me to check it early today, and I’m guessing it was the prompt to share this gem with you for Happy Monday:

Maybe this day is not

One of your favourites, but

Never forget that every

Day you wake up is an

Amazing Gift and it’s up to

You to make it count!

— Blackstonestudio.com

What a great way to start a Monday!

I always love to include everyone in all the activities of the Centre, and so here we go…

Let’s Talk After the Talk! The Sunday Six are super excited to get together with ALL of you after our service for an interactive conversation on Zoom this coming Sunday, December 6th. I’ll share a message during the service on Facebook Live and then we’ll go onto Zoom so we can “talk after the talk” about the Sunday message, or about anything that might be on our minds. We’ve scheduled the Zoom room for 11:15 am Pacific Time (US and Canada). The meeting link and number is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/2508687387 Meeting ID: 250 868 7387 (no passcode required).

We’re having our festive and fun Holiday Christmas Service at 10:30 am on Facebook live, on Sunday December 20th. The Sunday Six are all going to get together to help us fill our traditional Dr. Kenn's Christmas Card Mini-boxes. Remember to make your box in advance this year and come to service ready to fill it up alongside our community. Here's a how-to tutorial on YouTube (https://youtu.be/YQtee_BoQH0). All you need is a recycled card, scissors and some tape.

A special reminder to our Staff Ministers and Practitioners for our upcoming retreat this Friday evening, December 4th at 7 pm on Zoom.

Our Grief Support Group has two more sessions left with Pauline Weninger RScP, Rev. Melody Bailey and Rev. Diane Hockey. You are so, so, welcome to drop in for support and care on either or both dates: Wednesdays, December 2 and December 9 at 7pm. Donations are appreciated.

Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85360175538. Meeting ID: 853 6017 5538 Passcode: Wednesday

The Drop In: Coffee and Connection, our first time of coffee, connection and conversation over Zoom, went so well that the group decided we should meet again this week, Thursday, December 3rd at 10 am on Zoom. This is for anyone wanting to spend some time together with our CSL Kelowna community members, including myself (Dr. Deborah), Rev. Gwen Smith and Rev. Barb Samuel. Since this is an extra meeting, the Zoom link for this week is different than the regularly scheduled series. On the day, go to: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87390721140 Meeting ID: 873 9072 1140 Passcode: Connection

I’m so happy we have a designated Practitioner of the Week, someone ready to serve you with Affirmative Prayer or Spiritual Mind Treatment for whatever you’d like to make a prayer request for. This week's practitioner is Joanne Marie, and you can reach her at joannemarie369@gmail.com.

Lastly, tomorrow, December 1st is #GivingTuesday, which is a day of giving back to what serves you and your spiritual nourishment. Remember we’re coming up to the end of the year and this is a great time to check if giving to your spiritual community is at the level of your intentions. We are a Registered Canadian Charity and offer tax receipts for your donations over $50 annually. Thank you for your support!

Blessings for a Happy Monday and a Happy week!

Dr. Deborah

PS: If you missed yesterday’s Soul Food Sunday with Rev. Barbara Samuel and Neal Klassen titled What are You Willing to Welcome?, you can watch it on our YouTube channel or listen to it on the podcast.

Practitioner of the Week is Joanne Marie. If you are looking for one-to-one prayer treatment support for ANYTHING, you can contact Joanne directly via email at joannemarie369@gmail.com.
