This week’s message from Dr. Deborah
Good beautiful morning!
I hope you are all thriving after Halloween, the time change, and All Saints’ Day. Today is All Souls’ Day and The Day of the Dead (el Día de los Muertos) which is a holiday celebrated in a big way in Mexico, where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink and celebration.
That’s a lot of celebrations!
It was delightful to also observe our sky on Halloween evening when we had a rare, two-in-one-month full moon: the blue moon. I thought it was most timely to learn that this year’s blue moon was the first visible to the entire world since World War II. I think the Universe really wanted to give us the vital reminder during these unprecedented days that in Truth, we are One!
Thinking about all of these celebrations, I want to share with you a very special save-the-date! (Keep your fingers crossed!) We are planning our Celebration of Light, our 28th annual holiday music and message extravaganza of uplifting inspiration and holiday cheer for December 20th. We’ll be doing it all in accordance with our current times, in other words, Covid-style! We are deep in the planning stage and wanted you all to mark the date on your calendars and stay tuned for how it will unfurl.
Kenn and I are also planning a virtual version of our traditional “gift box Sunday,” and this will be on Facebook Live on Sunday morning, December 20th. It will also be posted on YouTube. It should be fun.
Finally, I want to give a heads up to encourage anyone out there who is looking for some extra support during these times of loss. Pauline Weninger RScP, Rev. Melody Bailey and Rev. Diane Hockey will be offering a drop-in Grief Support Group on Wednesday evenings starting November 18th at 7 pm via Zoom. See details here.
