As I write this, I am indeed happy knowing our beloved Drs. Deb and Kenn are setting sail on a cruise to Alaska for a well-deserved break. Pausing and having time to refill and reset is so important. I’ve been singing “North to Alaska” since I learned about their travel plans.
I’m filled with joy from being back serving in spiritual community after my sabbatical. I knew I missed everyone, but the magnitude of my ‘feels’ in seeing your faces, reading your posts, and hearing your voices, fills my heart to over-flowing. Being graced to work alongside Dr. Deb, the staff ministers and Board in re-establishing our physical community has filled my being in such a beautiful way.
The generosity of the volunteers who are showing up to help us get started with physical and virtual services touches me deeply. Working alongside each of you has always been one of my favourite things. I’m deeply touched by those who willingly leap into serving our community. If you’d like to share the gift of your service, let me know.
As I reflect on where we are now, I am reminded of the dedication of our Spiritual Leaders in birthing, growing and maintaining our spiritual home for the past 30 years.
I try to imagine what it was like for them back in the very beginning, the faith and determination it would have taken, and it boggles my mind. The ripple of their lives of service have changed the landscape of so many lives, mine included. I am grateful! I can’t imagine my life without it.
We’re planning to hold a party near the end of November to honour, not only our 30th anniversary as a spiritual community, but to also thank and celebrate Drs. Deborah and Kenn as they move into retirement. The only hard thing for me in returning is knowing this will be the last year I am blessed to serve beside this great woman who is my teacher, my mentor and my friend.
Sunday’s service was wonderful. I enjoyed staying after service to sit together, chat and connect. It’s all about connection for me, whether it be in person or online. My vision and goal in this landmark year is for CSL Kelowna to re-establish itself as the vibrant, tight-knit community we were before we were separated by the pandemic.
I had so much fun joining Dr. Deb and wonderful folks for Coffee and Connection last Thursday. I’m looking forward to another opportunity on June 16th! Each of us is a vital part of this community; you matter whether you’re here in person or with us through the wonders of technology. I love how we can connect, even at a distance.
I love the ‘open at the top’ nature of our teaching and organization that’s really looking at the practical tools required for conscious living. So much of what’s shared throughout our teaching is like an instruction manual for life, all provided to help us create the lives we’d love to live.
I appreciate the themes we’ve been exploring through May and June and know the benefit these bring to our lives. Throughout May, the theme was emotions and June’s theme is the ‘Body Divine’; practical spiritual tools are offered here. But, what do you need? What would you love to see or experience?
Knowing what you need, what your ideas are, is essential for us to grow; it must interest and serve your needs. I’m curious about what you’d like to see, about ideas you may have, or what would light your passion.
There are a multitude of ways we can gather in spiritual community, whether it be small groups or larger gatherings. We’re already in the early planning for fall classes and programs, so knowing what you’d like to see and experience would be so helpful. Email me at corinne_crockett@telus.net.
I want you to know, above all else, I’m here for you. I’m endeavouring to reach out and connect with people for one-to-one conversations, but don’t wait for me to call. Call me! I mean it! There’s nothing more wonderful for me than having conversations with you.
What I know at depth, is our time as a teaching and community is now. The teaching of Science of Mind and our Centre have something important to offer the world, now more than ever before. I know, together, we can do this.
Blessings,
Corinne

MIND-FULL MOMENT
“The need for connection and community is primal, as fundamental as the need for air, water, and food.”
