I'm delighted to be sharing my Happy Monday with you! I'm sitting in the forest, surrounded by trees. The birds are singing, there is a gentle breeze, and my heart is FULL! We had the most amazing Sunday service, followed by a lovely circle of conversation and fellowship. We shared coffee and treats, and connected in a deep wholehearted way. It was beautiful.
Our Centre has been busy, and it's a great time to pause, reflect, and recognize the abundant blessings that have come our way.
We've had quite a spring. We have new bylaws, a new Board of Trustees, a new space to hold our service, and a new Assistant Minister.
I'm grateful for the service of both Fred Blunden and Annie Zalezsak on our Board of Trustees for the past two years. They held it down while our Centre faced the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, a transition to fully online services, the sale of our Peace Centre and the recent re-opening of our community. I can't thank them enough for their wise counsel and guidance through all of these challenging parts and pieces.
I am grateful for the presence of our newest Board of Trustees member, Blair Wilson. Blair brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our Board, and we are blessed by his wise, compassionate and caring heart. He has jumped in with both feet and will serve on our Finance Committee.
We are consciously growing our Board of Trustees. I would love to chat with any of you who might be interested in serving on the Board and helping us steward a community that awakens humanity to its spiritual magnificence to create a world that works for all. It's meaningful service to our community.
On the heels of the sale of our beloved Peace Centre, our Finance Committee has been busy investing the proceeds from the sale. We are intentionally creating a portfolio that provides a good return on our investment, while ensuring we are flexible and nimble when the next GREAT opportunity comes our way. I am eternally grateful to our founding ministers, Drs. Kenn and Deb Gordon, for their 30 years of consciously growing and evolving this community to put us in a position where anything is possible. We stand on very wide and strong shoulders.
And as we head into the next stages of our evolution, our new Assistant Minister is working her magic. Rev. Corinne Crockett is demonstrating how to build a conscious community. Her caring consciousness, deep commitment to our community and gift for making connections is serving us well. She is creating opportunities for us all to be involved in growing our Centre. Reach out to Corinne (corinne_crockett@telus.net) if you want to serve our Centre in whatever way works for you. It is a joyful feeling to be involved in a community that you love. Give it a try!
I am grateful for this community, I am grateful for our Spiritual Leadership, and I am grateful for the amazing members of our Board of Trustees. I can't wait to see what's next. Spirit moves in beautiful ways!
