Happy Monday, July 12, 2021

We normally hear from Dr. Deborah in our Happy Monday blog post, but this week I am delighted to let you know that she is on vacation. Since the beginning of the pandemic in March of 2020, I am not sure Dr. Deb has taken many days off, never mind taken a vacation. Please join with me in wishing her a restful and restorative holiday.

My heart is still overflowing after having the opportunity to connect with so many people yesterday at Kinsmen Park. It was such a joy to be able to gather in person again. I am excited to think that we will soon be able to meet regularly in person for Sunday Celebrations and other events. Our next in-person event is scheduled for August 22nd. We will have an outdoor Sunday Celebration at The Vibrant Vine Winery. Stay tuned for more information on that.

I am happy to report that my first week in my new role was fantastic! Derek and I were staying in his family home in Kaleden, BC. It is a small town on Skaha lake. It was a beautiful setting to enjoy while I was oriented in my new role. My favourite part of the job so far is that I get to connect with people in our CSL Kelowna community. I so appreciate the warm responses I received when I reached out to members with expertise in various areas for advice or assistance with projects I am starting to work on. At the end of the week, it was lovely to enjoy some social time and see other CSL Kelowna members while enjoying live music from Kim and Jim Rhindress at Forbidden Spirits Distillery.

I must say that as I write this, I am feeling like I need to pinch myself. I feel truly blessed that this is how I get to spend my time. Dr. Deborah will be back next week and I am sure she will have stories to share about her holiday.

Take care, Amanda

MIND-FULL MOMENT

This is the power of gathering: it inspires us, delightfully, to be more hopeful, more joyful, more thoughtful: in a word, more alive.
