Happy Monday, January 4, 2021

Updated: Jan 4, 2021

I want to start with a shout out of gratitude to let you know how every contact I have with you fills me with a sense of appreciation. It’s not the same as being together in person, but every Sunday Service, every Happy Monday, every Friday blog post and every one of your cards, emails and messages to me, mean the world.

I loved that after yesterday’s service, Intentions 2021, we were able to get together in a Facebook room to see each other as well as to share our intentions. Seeing some of your beautiful faces really fills me up!

I hope each of you has set your intention for 2021. Like I mentioned in service yesterday, it can be really helpful to distill our intentions into one Word of the Year (WOTY) so we can remind ourselves of it quickly and often! Mine is lighthearted. I want to hold our community, our world, and myself in a much more lighthearted way as I go into this new year. In reviewing my life and this past year, I definitely see in myself a tendency to take everything so seriously and to end up in some serious “analysis paralysis”! Which of itself, isn’t really such a bad thing, but when it’s not balanced with a little lightheartedness, it can be sort of heavy and lacking in the joy and fun department.

So, I hope you’ve all taken the time to create your intention, your mental equivalent for this coming year. I’d love if you could all take the time to share your word with our CSL Kelowna community in our Facebook group. This group is a great way to keep us connecting together. I also hope you might think about joining Rev. Barbara Samuel, Rev. Gwen Smith and myself for Coffee & Connection on Zoom this coming Thursday, January 7. Those who choose, could also share a little about their intentions.

Happy New Year!
