It’s a snow day here as I dive into this week’s Happy Monday. Snow is not my favourite thing, but knowing I don’t have to drive in it, because I’m so much at home these days, feels like a blessing!
I’ve really enjoyed our Sunday Service messages during the month of January when we’ve gone “back to basics” in our review of the first four chapters of the Science of Mind textbook. After Dr. Kenn’s talk on the fourth chapter next Sunday, our intention is to create a compilation video of these back to basics of our teaching and post them on our YouTube channel as a great resource for us to go back to and remind ourselves of these ideas, and also as a place to send newcomers to our teaching who ask: “what’s this Science of Mind all about?”
Have you ever had someone ask you what’s “that thing you do” (meaning what the Science of Mind is all about)? That’s not such an easy question to answer. The Science of Mind text tells us that the Science of Mind is a philosophy, a faith and a way of life. Ernest Holmes also stated:
“Religious Science is a correlation of laws of science, opinions of philosophy, and revelations of religion applied to human needs and the aspirations of man.”
Well, for sure our teaching is deep, rich and multidimensional; there’s no doubt it’s really hard to put into the quintessential “elevator speech”. For those who want to do a little exploration, I’m hoping these videos will help.
Speaking of Dr. Kenn’s talk next week, if you tuned into the service yesterday, you heard Rev. Barbara Samuel mention that he’s going to be doing a Question and Answer session after he shares his take on the chapter entitled “How to Use It”. You are invited to send me any questions you might have about anything you’ve heard over these past four weeks, and I’ll moderate this opportunity to have some of your questions answered. Of course, “How to Use It” can be about anything relevant in life: our relationships, our creativity, our prosperity and our health.
Please send your questions to me at revgord@shaw.ca. I’m looking forward to getting your questions and to hearing the answers next Sunday.
Have a blessed week!
Dr. Deborah
PS: If you missed yesterday’s talk by Rev. Barbara Samuel, titled “What It Does”, you can watch it on our YouTube channel.

MIND-FULL MOMENT
Science of mind teaches you how to realize how much control you have over your own life. It teaches you that we have the ability to change our lives at any point we choose.
