I’m already looking forward to our Sunday Service next week on Facebook Live. I just got off the phone with Rev. Barb Samuel and she was sharing with me how excited she is for our Soul Food Sunday service which is going to be in her words, “a love-fest” musical concert morning. It’ll be mostly music, which she’ll wrap with messages of love and upliftment. We’ll have our Spiritual Practice of course, but for the most part it’ll be music, sweet music. She also shared that Neil’s Science Corner, which is always interesting, will have a musical bent to it. I look forward to a morning of fun and the energy of connection, and I’m grateful to offer something a wee bit different on a Sunday morning in these changing times to lift all of our spirits. Make sure you’re there to share the love.
I also have a request for all of you. Right now, our key method of getting the word out about who we are as the Centre for Spiritual Living Kelowna, is through social media. More and more, our world is orienting towards social media as a communication tool. (I know for some of us, that might feel like kind of unfamiliar territory; but for sure, it’s the now and the next frontier.) My ‘ask’ would be that to your level of comfort, willingness and ability, you take the time to like and follow our Facebook page…
…and join our Facebook group.
Please also like, share and comment on posts in interesting and personal ways as much as you can. The more we as a group do that consistently, the more our Spiritual Community rises in getting our information about who we are out there and the more of Humanity we can touch and Awaken!
YES! Your contributions matter!!
Thanks so much.
Finally, I’m running a series of meet-and-greets of our current Board of Trustees members so you can know who’s in these key positions of leadership at our Centre. This week, I’m delighted to feature our marketing and communications and social media guru/goddess, Annie Zalezsak.
After moving to Kelowna in March 2012, Annie heard about the Centre for Spiritual Living Kelowna and planned to attend, but it took her a while to get through the door.
At the downtown Block Party that summer, she saw Sista B & the Boyz perform. She signed up for singing lessons with Barbara Samuel; Barb invited her to a CSLK service and Soul Food Sunday that same week, and she loved it. The live music is what initially won her over.
Over the years, Annie took SOM classes and got to know people in our community better. With a background in graphic design, marketing and communications, Annie has volunteered with our marketing committee since designing our program brochure for the 2017 New Thought Conference. When we put out the call for new Board members in early 2020, she felt it was the right time for her to get more involved. She redesigned our website and continues to maintain it. She is the editor of our blog posts. Her vision for our community is to see us back together in a space that allows for all kinds of CSLK group interests to flourish.
Have a great week!
Dr. Deborah
