Get Ready, Get Going and Rise Up!

Get Ready, Get Going and Rise Up!

Rev. Barbara Samuel

“What’s done is done. What’s gone is gone. One of life’s lessons is always moving on. It’s okay to look back to see how far you’ve come but keep moving forward.

Roy T. Bennett

Equipped with our understanding and experience of living our personal Universal Truths, we can be led into reaching higher and diving deeper to help us find the next part of our personal and collective journey.

Join Rev. Barbara Samuel, Neal Klassen and the rest of the Sunday Six on September 26 at 10:30am on Facebook Live.

Tune in early at 10:20am to hear the music of New Thought musician, Nathen Aswell.

This Week’s Science of Mind Theme

And Still I Rise

In spite of discomfort and obstacles, we persevere and rise. Something within us continues to call us forward and upward on our journey of awakening. It calls us to a greater understanding of ourselves, our relationship with the Self, our role and purpose in society.

In New Thought, we tend to avoid pain and suffering via spiritual bypass or other forms of denial. Bypass is a temporary and ultimately unsatisfying fix that robs us of the deep lessons, wisdom and power that challenging life experiences can offer us. Instead of running from pain, what if we leaned into a process of listening closely to hear what pain has to teach us? What if we reframed pain as an expression of Spirit, a holy portal that leads us to the centre of our own unique power and purpose?

Nothing is wasted; all is used for good. We can face life’s joys and challenges with equanimity, knowing all of our experiences are used by Spirit in service to our greater unfoldment.

Community Town Hall

We are delighted to create the opportunity for us to get together for a Community Town Hall on Zoom, October 3, 2021 at 1pm. Dr. Deborah Gordon and Amanda Pope will provide community updates, and then we will have the opportunity to discuss what we value about our community and what we want to create in this new world that is emerging. We’d love for YOU to join us!

Meeting ID: 862 1541 4467 Passcode: community

Service Opportunities

We are planning on getting together at the Pandosy Peace Centre for a work party on Wednesday, September 29th at 10am. This will be an opportunity to do some deep cleaning indoors and to winterize the gardens.

If you have a couple of hours to share with your community, please contact Amanda at amanda@cslkelowna.org. It will be a great opportunity to gather together in community and support the hard work that Judy and Gilles have been doing to maintain our Peace Centre over the past 18 months.

Our hybrid service at the Innovation Centre was a great success! The technology was easy to use and the livestream service looked great. We need a few volunteers to help with the sound, camera and livestream. Please contact Amanda to find out more.

Practitioner of the Week

Dr. Deborah Gordon is our practitioner of the week. You can contact her directly at revgord@shaw.ca for your personal prayer request. Remember: our practitioners are here for you. They love to serve you with support and positive prayer (also known as Spiritual Mind Treatment). They are as close as your email and will respond to your prayer request as soon as they can. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.

MIND-FULL MOMENT

There is an inner urge in our own minds to grow, to expand, to break down the barriers of previous limitations and to ever widen our experience. This persistent urge is a Divine influence, an irresistible force, and constitutes the greatest impulse in human experience.
