What's New at CSL Kelowna 💗 April 8, 2022

As we move into new times, we are experimenting with a few things! Our Friday blog posts may look a bit different; we won’t be having slides or pre-service music on our Sunday livestream (we’ll just start right at 10:30am) and soon, we’ll have a new venue where we can gather!

This Sunday’s talk:

Endings, Beginnings and Divine Love

— Dr. Deborah Gordon

“Revolutionary love is practiced in community. Each of us has a role in any given time. We can all be midwives in this time of great transition.

Steve Maraboli

It seems we’ve come through a time of endings. As we’re taught, our new experiences come as previous ones draw to a close. We’re delighted to let everyone know our NEW now is at hand. Dr. Deborah Gordon explores a few more ideas on honourable closure, new beginnings and the dynamic impact of Divine Love operating through it all.

Join Dr. Deborah on April 10th at 10:30am PT on Facebook Live.

This Week’s Science of Mind Theme

Dance with the Donkey

It’s ‘Holy Week’ in the Christian tradition. Ramadan began last week. In addition to honouring Palm Sunday this weekend, next week we look forward to Good Friday, Passover and Easter Sunday. The Creator Itself shines through all spiritual paths in unique ways.

If we want to dance with Spirit, we must dance with ALL of Spirit, including the parts of ourselves and our journey which challenge us to grow. In other words, there will be donkeys. Metaphysically, the donkey is that part of us that is stubborn, untrainable and undisciplined. But the donkey is also persistent and can endure the rocky and broken road.

What we resist persists. It’s exhausting, overwhelming and incredibly frustrating! When we dance with our donkeys, resistance fades away. What was once our ‘shadow’ blesses us and offers gifts of innovation, newness, wisdom and resilience.

It takes willingness to be a channel for Spirit’s creations. It takes faith to step forward in possibility, discovery and newness. Whether creating a new way of being with the people you love or innovations in space travel, you have a light within which seeks to shine in wonder and radiance.

See Our New Location on Facebook Live this Sunday!

We’ll be livestreaming from our new location at Studio 9 this Sunday, April 10! Please bear with us as we figure out the set up and establish a new routine.

It will just be our leadership in attendance so that we can ensure a quality service for our first open-to-everyone service on April 24th!

Special In-Person Easter Sunday Celebration

Join us at the Rotary Centre for the Arts for another uplifting and inspiring in-person service on April 17th (Easter Sunday). Rev. Barbara Samuel will have her full band, Sista B and the Boyz.

We have a special service planned to celebrate the season of renewal.

Please RSVP. The service will also be livestreamed on Facebook Live.

Fundraiser

There is an easy way for you to help CSL Kelowna raise funds. Save your Nature’s Fare receipts, bring them to the in-person service on April 17th, and put them into the donations basket. Nature’s Fare will donate 3% of the total of your purchases to CSL Kelowna.

Practitioner Support

Our ministers and practitioners are in service to all of us. If you need help to see the Truth in a situation; if you are looking for clarity; if you are struggling in this challenging time; our ministers and practitioners are here to support you. You can contact them through the About page on our website, or you can submit a prayer request on the Contact page.

Our Shared Values: Diversity and Inclusivity

DIVERSITY and INCLUSIVITY are values we share in the Science of Mind philosophy.
